Foxbeam AT4 1500 Fog Lights

I've done a few relay installs. The purpose of the relay is to let the ORIGINAL wire to the fog lights "trigger" the relay. I don't think you need to play with the BCM for triggering. Find a place for the relay. If those lights draw a lot of power, grab the power form the battery and add an inline fuse. The relay power is then wired to the fog lights and the OEM wire from one of the fog lights will be the trigger.
The whole purpose of adding a relay was so that with the BoostAuto Auto Fog mod, the fog lights would work as the factory fog lights did with the mod. The mod activates the fog lights when the parking lights are on and remains on when the high beams are on. The mod also allows the Intellibeam (auto high beams) to function correctly.

The trigger for the relay is the original wire for the fog lights, as you mentioned.

@pigpen23 Can you add a picture to what the lights look like on the truck without them turned on. Just curious what they look like as far as aesthetics go.
They have pretty decent pics on their website too. Don't mind my busted-up lower valence...damn deer.

I just ordered the Auto Fog Mod but want to make sure it's going to do what I need. The fog/driving lights on my previous F150's would come on in auto mode with the headlights and then go off when the auto high beam feature switched from low to high beam. When a car approached, it would switch back to low and the fog/driving lights would come back on. I was disappointed to see that I had to manually turn the fog/driving lights on every time and when doing so, the Intellibeam wouldn't work. Do you feel this mod will fix my problem? Thanks!

I installed new fog lights from Foxbeam Aftermarket Lighting, which is linked here. This kit is for 2022+ GMC Sierra 1500s that have factory fog lights. The kit came with the mounts, Diode Dynamics SSC2 SAE Pro lights, and wire adapters, so they're plug-and-play. The installation was super easy and took around 30 minutes for both. The light output is impressive, and they light up the ditch way better than the factory fog lights. I didn't install the wire leads to run the backlighting option. Now, I need to figure out how to get them to work properly with the Boost Auto Auto Fogs mod and aim them a little better.

Overall, the color of the DD Fog Lights match the factory headlights pretty well.
I liked your write up and photos. I didn't want to add spot or floods to the truck, so I ordered a set DD fog lights. Thanks for the post.

I believe the mod will do what you're looking for. One difference from what you explained vs your F150 is when the high beams are enabled, the fogs will stay on. Essentially anytime the park lights are on, the fog lights will be on. Here's how my front lights function with the Auto Fog Mod.

Auto mode
  • Daytime conditions: bright DRLs (the C-shaped lights)
  • Low-light/nighttime conditions: dimmed DRLs, lows, fogs, and parking lights (the amber lights)
  • When the high beams are enabled manually or with Intellibeam, the fog lights stay on
Parking lights mode
  • Dimmed DRLs, parking lights, and fogs.
Things to note: If you enable the fog light button, it will turn off the Intellibeam (as it normally functioned). When you remote start the truck, the fog lights come on with the DRLs and parking lights.

I really never touch the fog light button with the mod installed, they're just on with the right conditions. Hopefully this helps.

Very nice. I ordered the adapters from Foxbeam that convert the factory plugs to the plugs in the DD Fogs, so everything is plug-and-play and can be easily reversed.
@pigpen23 I'm receiving my Foxbeam SSC2's sometime this week. I already have the boost auto mod but was unaware this wouldn't work with the new fogs. Which adapters did you order from Foxbeam? Is this all that was needed for the boost auto mod to work?

The new fog lights draw too much juice for the jumper to turn them on with the high beams. A simple fix is to add a relay. Relays are very simple, and you can find the wiring diagram for them online. Basically, the relay takes power from a larger power source, like your battery (with a fuse) inline. The power from the battery supplies the new fog lights with sufficient amperage to run. Turning them on is what the relay does. The relay has a "trigger" wire. The trigger wire is simply the original wire that goes to the OEM fog lights. When the high beams come on and you have the Boost harness installed, the harness sends the signal to the fog lights. The wire from the fog lights "triggers" the relay and lets it send the power from the battery to the new more powerful fog lights.

Thats the way to go! (y)

Gotcha, that makes sense. Thank you for the info!

Can someone link a relay for the pros?
Something like this will work. This is how I run my Rigid pods off of my high beam wire.

Here is the diagram on how to wire it:

It took Foxbeam eight weeks to finally deliver my fog lights. I wouldn't have minded the wait, but they originally said two weeks and charged my credit card right away. So they sat on my money for eight weeks.

With that said, they're an easy install and initially they didn't look like they do much. I got into a dark area and aimed them better. They work really WELL. They provide a lot of forward light and have great side lighting.

If you're not a big off roader, they're great for the times you might need more lighting. I also added the license plate light bar and it more than doubles the light to the rear when backing up.
