Let us know how it goes and where you run the wires. Going through the exact same thing. Boost auto and diode dynamics said same thing. Too much power being drawn so I already bought the relays a few days ago and I was going to give it a go. Then I found your post. I’ll let you know if I jump on it sooner if I have any tips or tricks. My hold up until I read this post was wondering if I could someone stay in the bumper area with the relays and just use the existing fog light wires at the fog lights to use as the trigger, then run 12v wire with fuse to battery, then still keep the boost auto mod connected. So then the mod would trigger the fog lights switch, then to the relay to trigger the 12v source then to the lights.I gotcha. I will try the trigger wire from the parking light pin on the BCM. The parking lights can only turn on if the truck is on or if you switch them on. That's how the Auto Fogs mod works. That mod allows the fogs to stay on with the high beams, and the Intellibeam still works as intended. Appreciate all your help!
You're on it right! That will work.Let us know how it goes and where you run the wires. Going through the exact same thing. Boost auto and diode dynamics said same thing. I was thinking about exactly what you explained since I posted earlier today. Reinstall the Auto Fogs mod and leave it alone. Then, use the relays like the image below. I hope it works; otherwise, I'll have to order new wiring adapters cuz they're getting hacked to shit lol.Let us know how it goes and where you run the wires. Going through the exact same thing. Ope just saw this. Glad you got it working too!Just finished wiring everything. Still have to clean it up but everything works as expected now. Boost auto mod works and when I put the high beams on the fogs stay on. I can hear the relay triggering from outside when I unlock the truck so it’s all working as of now.
One relay is enough if it can switch at least a 10amp load.I only used one relay for both. Hopefully my setup works out.
I've done a few relay installs. The purpose of the relay is to let the ORIGINAL wire to the fog lights "trigger" the relay. I don't think you need to play with the BCM for triggering. Find a place for the relay. If those lights draw a lot of power, grab the power form the battery and add an inline fuse. The relay power is then wired to the fog lights and the OEM wire from one of the fog lights will be the trigger.I gotcha. I will try the trigger wire from the parking light pin on the BCM.
