I'm glad to see this change! My wife's '23 Z71 Tahoe has the buttons/pull switches on the front dash and it's a very odd layout. Her previous Yukon Denali's had the old tried n true colum mechanical shift leaver that worked great.

Cut and paste....

Additionally, the shift lever will be repositioned to the right-side stalk on the steering column, replacing the dash-mounted rocker switches located on the left of the infotainment screen.
Thanks looks like an electronic column shifter instead of the mechanical shifter in the HD’s presently.

Wonder if they plan on trying to slide this by everyone on the next refresh.

Lol, I wouldn't be surprised.

In-line cup holders make me irritated. Wth is the trailer brake doing wasting real estate there?
AgDoctor,
Haha! That's a good point. The front cup holder is just far enough away to be inconvenient. Your 100% correct the trailer brake control could be in a less "prime real-estate" spot.

Yeah cup holders aren’t perfect but better than right in front of the charging location for my phone. That’d really piss me off. Bump my phone every time I get out with my mug in place.

however that silly trailer brake location and oversized start button are definitely buffedling.

My '19 Denali 1500 had the start button on the dash and it was smaller and was just fine. This new one post refresh is massive. I don't get it either??

I'm getting use to the center console "joystick" shifter on my 1500 AT4 and truly like it.

Same for me. I had only had a center console shifter on a 2013 Ram I had for a year, all my other trucks had always had a column shifter. Orginally didn't think I'd like the console shifter on the RAM, but ended up liking it. My 2020 AT4 had the column shifter and I was fine with it, but my 23 AT4X has the console shifter and I like prefer it over column at this poiint. I personally don't want to go back to a column shifter if I had my preference, but it is not a deal breaker either way for me whenever I trade for a new truck down the line (probably about 3 years from now).
