AEV clearance kit with 35s

They have been great. Ride good and not too noisy. I have had them on anything other than dry turn rows and gravel. Do very good on wet pavement and I hauled a 20 foot trailer with my can am max 200+ miles the last couple of days and it was all good.
Have any pictures of your truck?

I went with the Toyo RT Pros in 285/75r18 on the stock Salta wheels. It’s 34.8 inches tall and 11.3 inches wide. Completely stock AT4X 1500 and no rubbing even at full lock and no problems with UCA.
Any photos?

I wanted to post this for other people that might be on the fence about bigger tires on the AEV edition or the AEV kit. My truck is a 2024 Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV edition, 35 clearance kit, Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35/12.50/18 and 12mm spacers

I installed the AEV 35 clearance kit and I was able to fit 35/12.50/18 with no rubbing even when the suspension is articulating and looks like it should have came like this from the factory.

The AEV kit was relatively easy if you’re mechanically inclined. I struggled the most getting the plastic trims installed and aligned correctly. They squeeze every mm out of that back front fender as they can but the end result is awesome. The kit is designed so good that you would never tell unless you’re in the know. The body lift was super easy. I think it took me 45 minutes to install and that really was my biggest concern on getting the body and bed to align properly. I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff I did so please feel free to ask away.

After I finished the install I was really concerned with the space I had between the UCA and the stock tire so I ordered 12mm spacers just in case I needed them during the tire install. AEV does a great job of not telling you what width 35s you can fit. I wanted 12.50 and that was my end goal so I was prepared to run spacers. I now have approximately 10-12mm between the UCA and the tire but if you were to run a less aggressive tire you might get away with no spacers. I wasn’t willing to take a chance on the expensive tire im running. My spacers gave me 12-13 turns on the lug nut so I’m ok with that. If anyone has ever owned a tundra with after market wheels will appreciate 13 turns. lol

The end result is the perfect look I was going for. OEM plus as they say. Honestly I think the spacer gives the tire the perfect amount of poke so I’m keeping them on. They are also hub centric so they ride great.

Side note- I got rid of the rock sliders because you can’t get in the truck without sliding off and hitting your shin. Screw that so I bought some high clearance factor steps.

I will also get better pics when the sun comes out.

What’s your overall height. Trying to see if I go this route if I will still fit in the garage. 7’ garage door. Thanks

I have to wait to see if it will fit. In the garage is my only option for parking.

I’ll need to measure for you today but I build houses and it does clear 7’ garage doors. It is nerve wrecking but it fits. I sometimes reverse into the garage if it’s raining to offload stuff.

I’d appreciate that. I think I’ll be good. The way my drive way is uphill into my garage, I have like 4-5 inches from the dig antenna.

Appreciate you putting this together—this is exactly my situation and it saved me a couple headaches.

I picked up a 2026 AT4X AEV Edition about a month ago. I’ve got the AEV 35” clearance kit and am planning to run Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws. I’ve used them on a few vehicles and they perform really well in the snow, so figured I’d stick with them here. I’m looking at a 35x11.5R18 (34.9” tall and ~12” wide).

I’m also planning to ditch the factory “sliders” and go with high-clearance side steps like you did—your setup looks spot on.

My main concern is clearance at the UCA. The stock setup is already very tight, so even a slight increase in width seems like it could get close. I’m considering a set of 6mm spacers on standby just in case when install day comes.

Curious how your clearance worked out running 12mm spacers with a 12.5” tire—do you have enough room to comfortably clear the UCA? Can you get a finger between the tire and UCA ? I haven't researched spacer sizes, etc just yet so if you have a part recommendation I'd gladly take it.

Thanks again for sharing your setup—it’s been really helpful.

Welcome.

@lostaddiction , are you running this kit with the stock UCA's? I had looked at it, but agree the instructions looked pretty daunting. If it is as straightforward as you make it sound, I will reconsider. I only have 4500 miles on my truck at the moment, but wanted to go with 35x11 or 35x12 in tires on the stock AEV wheels. (avoiding spacers if possible) I want to upgrade to Kryptonite UCAs as well.
