285/70r18s Nitto Ridge Grapplers?

285/70 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. So far so good. Fuel milage is hanging out around 23.5ish on interstate, fingers crossed mileage only goes up w/ additional miles.
I've got 4k miles on my AT4X and have been hoping for the mileage to go up also, especially after reading all these guys talking about getting in the "30's" but it ain't happening! LoL. The highest I've seen is 25.5 and that was on cruise at 60mph. On the interstate with cruise at 80 I'm looking at 19mpg at best. Not complaining because it's much better than the 13mpg on my other truck! I really do love this diesel AT4X more each time I drive it.

Hello!

I am looking @ picking up a 2024 AT4X Duramax in next few weeks. As a previous F-150 Tremor and gen 3 Raptor owner, I'm curious as to ride quality on the AT4X.

My only gripe w/ the AT4X is OEM selection. I'm looking for a quite, well balanced, good performing AT alternative. Quick search shows a 285/70r18, load range E, Nitro Ridge Grappler, being a solid contender. Weight per tire is 58lbs, roughly 8lbs over OEM. Assuming MPG's take low % hit, I'm not overly concerned w/ this option.

However, I am concerned with change to load range E from a load range C OEM. I'd like to keep ride quality as best as possible. Is it best to stay factory?

Looking fwd to input and suggestions.

Thanks,
Not sure if this helps but I switched from the factory 285/70/17 Goodyear Duratrac to a 305/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grappler load range E on my 24 Canyon AT4X. The biggest, noticeable difference surprised me. It wasn’t road noise, ride quality or mpg, it was what felt like tread squirm. I didn’t expect this because I figured the stiffer sidewall and larger tread blocks would more than make up for the taller height. That being said, it’s not uncomfortable and not even noticeable unless I induce wiggles at highway speeds. Overall I’m satisfied.

Did you have to install any type of leveling kit for the 295's to fit? Any trimming if you did?
No. the truck (AT4X) is bone stock. Tires clear with room to spare. The tires do have 24k miles on them but I can’t imagine that make much of a difference

I don't expect to see 30's on the AT4X. Between front bumper, 2" lift, tires, etc., it's not going to happen. However, I would anticipate mid 20's to be consistent.

I went over 1k miles yesterday and started to see 25ish mpg around 60mpg.

Seems the 3.0L sweet spot is around 60-68mph, once you get into 70mph, mpg's drop quickly. YMMV.

Last--what fuel are you running and do you run treatment @ each fill up? I am a long time user of Hot Shot Secret's EDT, 1oz. per tank is what I run.

I run whatever my local stations have and get DEF from their pump also. I would say my overall average with different driving is 19-20 mpg. I tow a trailer some each week and average 13-14 while towing. And yes, I agree, once above 65-70mph mine starts dropping fast! The 285/70 Nittos were definitely heavier than the oem Goodyears so I figure that hurt a little as well but I'm ok with it because I like them so much more.

22 At4x. 285/75R18. No level. Had to have some trimming done but they do not rub.
