'24 GMC Sierra HD is live to order...

My dealer just texted me saying they can order Thunder Storm Grey with a 3 month turn around.
Man I was just about to make a post. I got my dealership to submit and order for a 2024 AT4 in Thunderstorm as well. Just made my $1,000 deposit. So far so good. Still waiting on further details.

Thanks to chatter on this forum, I was able to submit my order for a Thunderstorm Grey 2500 AT4 this morning at the Dealer. Now just waiting for the build number. GMC Website still says "Late Availability", but my dealer says they can see others in the build que. Hopefully the wait is about over.

Bummer. Think I’ll save up more and purchase a 25’ with the hopes of super cruise being an option.
believe it will be ‘26 or maybe ‘27 for supercruise in the HD’s. We won’t get electronic power steering until the next refresh, currently we are using an old hydraulic system that is virtually bullet proof. But that means no lane keep assist or supercruise like they have in the 1500’s.

When I got my 2020 AT4 3.0, I originally found the electronic steering and lane assist... odd. But grew to like it quite quickly. It is something one comes to get used to and probably rely on a bit more than they realize (or should). Same with the vibrating seat - originally did not really like it, but now have found it is a nice feature.

My 23 AT4X has a bit heavier electronic steering than my 2020 AT4 did, but I have long ago grown used to the fact that it is a bit heavier/slower feeling than my 2020 AT4 was. I do like lane assist. Would probably like super cruise, especially since I have been making a lot of the 2000 mile round trips between Nebraska and Montana the last year and a half. Supercruise would come in handy for a trip like that. But, it is not a big deal since I have never had something like that and probably won't until I trade off my 23 AT4X for a newer model in about 3 years.

Mechanical power steering (and other mechanical mechanisms in a truck) are preferrable to me still though. Just because - it is mechanical and not dependant on an onboard computer or electric motor to work. But mechanincal vs electronic is something where electronic will be how most/all new vehicles will be equipped soon, some/many already. Good and bad to both, but mechanical still has it's advantages and always will.

Glad to hear someone else has been able to get order placed for one. Is yours still sitting in que waiting for them to get allocation? That is where my 2500 AT4 short bed is now.

However I find it odd that they would say they would have it by year end. With all of the delays and uncertainty in the auto industry right now, irregardless of the color, I would never say something like that. Heck, there are trucks sitting for months right now just waiting to get on a train car to travel across the country.
Mine is currently in the dealer que but not GMC que. The dealer said something along the lines of 100 other trucks being ahead of mine but since mine is a gas it might jump the line. I am seeing a few other future AT4 customers on here mentioning 2024 guaranteed deliveries on the Thunderstorm. Fingers crossed!

Yup, hoping the same since I ordered a gas. Will be checking in with my dealer Friday to see if they have received allocation yet as it will be 4 weeks.

Seeing a couple of comments up above where dealers have said it will be X turnaround and I’m 100% glad that the dealership I’m at isn’t making those kind of comments and is being honest that they do not know what the turnaround time will be. In all honesty, they cannot even predict the amount of time from factory to dealership right now with all of the transportation delays at the rail depots.

I agree with you. I am buying this truck for two reasons and I've been upfront with my dealer. A. We need a new truck for the business and the 179 deduction changes next year. B. We need something beefier to tow. If the color isn't available by end of year I will change to something else. Fortunately, the dealer didn't charge me a deposit and has told me regardless of time frame I can change my mind and do something else (if need be). Time will tell!

Hey guys been a while. The 2024 1500’s are now available to build and price on the GMC website. Thunderstorm Grey is available without any delay. Package prices have changed and Premium is now cheaper. Still no power folding steps on the 1500 as what was originally expected. I have built and submitted my order. Currently still has 1100 code being in the dealer que…… sales team told me possibly 3 months if not sooner. No other info on the 2500’s.

I'm new here so hope I get this right. I ordered new AT4 2 weeks ago in thunderstorm gray and have been searching everywhere to see what the color looks like in case I wanted to change it and I finally found a pic if anyone is interested. Dont think its just a rendition looks like its real color, at least better than the build page.

Looks like Sterling Silver but hard to know!

Yea just pic's for now. Here's same location and this one is sterling metalic. Hope the thunderstorm is a little darker than sterling metalic.

Thanks for posting those photos! I can't wait to see this paint in person. (y)
