'24 GMC Sierra HD is live to order...

Hopefully getting to the truth on the Thunderstorm Gray topic today. On June 23 GMC responded to me on TikTok that the color had been pulled, but last Friday my dealership said it was available in the portal for ordering.

Headed to see them today to validate my build and should know tomorrow if they are indeed able to submit.

Received call from dealership today that order WAS ACCEPTED. 2024 - 2500HD AT4 (Gas) in Thunderstorm Gray. Was told it would probably be 2-3 weeks before they (dealership) received necessary allocation and would get next update then.

We will now wait!

I just went to my dealer yesterday to do the same. If the color was pulled, why is it still available on the website?! The GM is calling to get me a definite answer so I should hear something back later this week. As of right now, I understand Thunderstorm Gray will not be available to the 2500. It will however be released as a viable option for the 2024 1500 release.

Please post any updates, it is definitely a confusing situation that no one seems to know the answer. Or even worse, there is no way to validate those who think they do know the answer.

At this point all I know is the ‘official ordering system’ accepted the order they placed for mine. They did say they had determined the color was only available as an option on the AT4 and wasn’t, at least of right now, allowing them to choose it on Denali or Pro’s.

I’m just going to sit back with my fingers crossed right now. If it turns out to not be available will decide then what color we will be going with.

Just got word from my dealer this morning. Same thing here as well. Can’t be ordered for the 2024 2500 or the new 2024 1500 as of right now. I waited for nothing!

I literally just looked at a Sterling myself! I like your style. I just can’t bring myself to it just yet. I want to see the 1500 actually get released and then choose a color. The Downpour Metallic is a contender for me as well. Just hoping it get released and not held like Thunderstorm.

I ordered a 2500 at4 long bed in thunderstorm Grey and the dealership said they'd have it by year end. They also said they have a thunderstorm gray already in the gmc que. Time will tell but I'm hopeful

Glad to hear someone else has been able to get order placed for one. Is yours still sitting in que waiting for them to get allocation? That is where my 2500 AT4 short bed is now.

However I find it odd that they would say they would have it by year end. With all of the delays and uncertainty in the auto industry right now, irregardless of the color, I would never say something like that. Heck, there are trucks sitting for months right now just waiting to get on a train car to travel across the country.

I've literally had 2 different dealers here tell me yes they could and no they can't get the thunderstorm color option. Now, throw in the fact of the big question, are they taking orders for the 2024 1500 yet? One says yes and the other says no.... without it being an option to build on the GMC website I feel like one of them is trying to be sneaky to make a sale and making false promises with hopes of getting me into a truck. If I hear one more salesman tell me that they have a bunch of new 23's on the lot, I'm going to buy a Ram out of spite!! None of the dealers even knew of the new options for the power retractable side steps and the two new wheel options coming for the 24' 1500. I'm literally having to do their job for them and point out certain details on the truck! Sorry for venting..... I hate bitching. If you guys are having better luck with dealers that have actual knowledge on the product they are selling.... Please drop the name and location and I'll reach out to them. I don't mind a trip for a better experience to get exactly what I want.
