2025 GMC Sierra AT4EV to start production in September

And who wants to sit for an hour and a half to charge your EV when you can fill up even a large diesel tank in about 5 minutes? AND charging at those quick chargers is more expensive than filling up with diesel/gasoline. So where's the real benefit?
There is no benefit. The EV industry could not/would not exist without government subsidies. Same as wind and solar.

And they damage the environment and are dangerous to first responders.

Labor unions are eventually going to lose jobs.

Electric is not a stand alone solution.

Maybe nuclear... 😂

I have both. A diesel truck and a full EV. They're both great in their ideal use cases. I use the truck for longer road trips, especially up in the mountains, hauling, off-roading, etc. The EV just about everywhere else - which is honestly the majority of my driving. Running errands, heading to the office, kid pick up, shorter trips in the city/state area, etc.

My 3.0 1500 can average around 20+mpg on those trips and is super versatile. But it has maintenance and fuel/DEF isn't cheap. Plus those frequent short trips aren't the best for it. And parking in tight spaces can sometimes be a no go.

My Hyundai Ioniq 5 can leave the house with a "full tank" every day. And that costs me less than $9 of electricity for 260+ miles of around town driving. Can't touch that with any gas/diesel vehicle. It'll fast DC charge from 10-80% in less than 20 minutes. I've done this many times and it works great. Although I know some areas have charger issues. And in some areas those prices can be comparable to gas, but it's still usually cheaper per mile. In my case, it's actually free if using EA chargers for the next 2 years with no maintenance costs. Perfect for a lease.

If they ever properly expand/fix the EV infrastructure, especially in more rural areas, I could absolutely see going all EV. But not today. For me, both work great.

I'll be honest. I reserved a Silverado EV (need to cancel it). I was close to getting a tesla as my summer grocery getter.
The only reason is for the summer here. A few of my neighbors have Teslas and hearing how they brag about always having a cooled car when doing groceries in the summer, it definitely perked my interest.

Back story, my 2004 Yukon Denali has A/C issues in the summer (replaced the radiator, condenser, pump, etc), so I often have to go into neutral and raise RPMs up to 1500 just to keep the engine temps from raising. My 2005 Avalanche, which has the same radiator but dual Fans, doesn't have that issue, but in stop and go traffic my A/C temps raise just a little. I just picked up my AT4 last month and its crazy how cool the A/C works. Even in the worse stop-and-go traffic here, I never see the engine temp go above Normal. Even with the windshield/outdoor temperature sitting at 130 *F, the engine temp stayed normal, hehe

Last year, I had a big brain idea, take my portable freezer chest and put it in my truck, and that worked wonders when getting frozen foods in the summer here, when it can take sometimes take 30-40mins to get back home with the traffic here. (I have one of those Kick-Ass standalone battery boxes with a dc-dc charger that i have plugged into the cooler https://kickassproducts.com/collections/power-12-volt-power-stations-and-trays)
