Well maybe I need to re-think this. I had my first inadvertent tailgate opening. I was towing a trailer without a tongue jack so I disabled the upper tailgate but left the fuse in so I could open the regular tailgate if needed. The morning after towing and turning in the trailer I realized the tailgate was down when I backed into a parking space. I was backed into the overnight spot so not sure if it was down when I got in it in the morning or not. I had driven some miles with the tailgate down without knowing but did not loose anything. My April 2024 truck did not have the recall and I assumed it was because the fix was incorporated by that time.
