Today was my first time messing with sound treatment. What a tedious process! Luckily, Adderall and good music made it almost therapeutic, completely mind-clearing.
It’s not Resonix. It’s not pretty. But, that rear wall sounds so much better already.

Seriously @FountainJL I feel like you and I are doing the same things to our trucks hahaha. On my next days off I will be doing the Amp Rack too. It's sitting in my garage with my LC7i and my D 6.1200 AudioControl amplifier/DSP. I already did my door speakers (AudioControl and if I dont like the sound I'll swap them over to Audison) and sound treatment on/in the 4 doors along with replacing my dash speakers (also AudioControl). Im trying to have the dealership locate some AT4X A-pillars for me so I can Factory mount my tweeters for an OEM+ look as I dont want to drill holes and have them visible in mine. The sound deadening on/in the doors probably made the most difference with quality.

Some pictures of the install I did last week. Did sound deadening, door speakers and dash speakers, and some simple sound deadening in the door panel.

Next will be sound deadening the back wall, the inside cabin roof, then mounting the amp rack and wiring up everything.

How did you remove the fender vent emblems? I looked on youtube but getting to the clips on a 1/2 ton is a real bi*ch.

This next project is the first I’m not sold on.
I wanted to remove the last bit of chrome on the truck, the front and rear GMC emblems. A post on this forum actually inspired me to do it this way. I loved the look on those trucks, not so much on mine. It’s “okay”.
I masked off everything, huge pain in the ass, HyperDipped the emblem, and peeled the centers to reveal the red. Even though this is supposed to be a glossy black, it’s not. I didn’t like the look of the whole emblem satin black and I’m not sure I like it with the red either. It’ll do for now.
The shop I had do my tint also does those awesome blackout packages for dealers that you often see on Escalades, Land Rovers, Mercedes, etc. They quoted me $4-500 to paint the grey part of my grille and whole emblem gloss black. I’m leaning that way heavily. I think I’ll compare a quote from them to paint my fender flares vs buying a new painted set as well.

Purchased the same truck in Nov with the duramax. Love what you’ve done as I’m doing many of the same mods. I’m in Houston too and am interested in the tint shop that’s quoting you the painted blackout. I’m looking at the grill, fenders bumper slats. Thanks.

I am trying to find a true 3" kit. I don;t want to be leveled for when I pull a trailer and maybe a 4 wheeler in the bed in the future.

There is only one but requires trimming of the differential on 22+ models. I think it was BDS. I brought the truck to a local specializing in 4x4's. He told me if I wasn't going to 37's, to leave the suspension alone. I ended up going 296/65/20 and changing to Bilstein shocks. it is like a new truck. I wan;t chasing looks to begin with. I was chasing a really really bad ride. It was brutal. Donl;t if the shocks were jacked up or what. My guy told me the larger footprint of the tire and shocks would make a difference. He still says I should have gone 35x12.50 but I am happy with it. Especially being a gasser.
