Well I'm out of the GMC game. Gave up on my truck, ordered back in march, been built since June. Dealer told me a while back it was staged for shipping. Still isn't here, that was 8 weeks ago. Went and visited my SIL in Ft Worth a week ago and my BIL and I went and looked at Dodge. While test driving one, I found a GMC dealer with 3 AT4s on the lot with the 6.2. All were very similar to what I ordered. My original order was at $68K, these were stickered at $72K and some change. Told me they would sell me one at $9K over sticker. $81K is absurd let alone I will never pay over MSRP for a truck and I recommend no one else does either. They told me they are getting that currently, I chuckled and told the guy it wouldn't be from me. I left and two days later he called me and wanted to negotiate. I had already made up my mind. Bought a Ram Rebel with the 5.7 Hemi. Truck rode much better than the GMC AT4 that I was finally able to test drive and also came with a 33 Gallon fuel tank. Dodge Dealer offered $4K off Sticker and was no pressure sales, he knew I already had a GMC on order. Dodge had the majority of what I wanted with a few missing bells and Whistles that can always be added later. Probably saved $10k off my original GMC order and close to $20K off the one I found on a lot. At this point my advise is screw brand loyalty (I've driven a GMC/Chevy since I was 18, so close to 20 years now) and anything over MSRP or that any dealer can't deliver. Rates are going up, vehicles cost more. Find something you can be happy with that won't break the bank at the end of the day. One dealer couldn't deliver the truck I ordered, one dealer wanted well over MSRP and Dodge was offering under MSRP. My choice was clear. Save my money and get a truck that day for a better deal. Overall I am happy with my choice and GM has lost a sale due to their inability to deliver.
