2022 Refresh Order Experience

@Tski @That 713 Drank I was fortunate to get mine at the end of September but I know we've been following each other's story. Glad to hear at least 1 of ya'll got yours now!

Make sure to check the paint for "rail dust"! On white it is very evident but on other paints it may be subtle. My white truck was covered in this when you looked up close (and so were every other truck on the lot) This is where they ship the truck on a train and the train wheels send hot metal sparks up into the car of the train landing on your paint.

I originally denied taking delivery until they clay bared the entire truck and came back a few days later.
Thanks. I checked it out pretty good yesterday and only noticed a few spots the truck was pretty dirty though so more could have been hidden. I’ll definitely give it a good once over before I leave the lot today. I did notice a white Denali was covered in it.

Thanks. For the price protection I just called my resolution rep. She in turn reached out to a regional person. I guess dealerships have regional reps. In fairness the dealership also reached out to the rep to find out.
As far as price protection, I had to ask for it. Then the salesman gave me a line how difficult it is the get GM to honor it, and any slight error or inconsistency in the paperwork could neg the whole thing. I said, ‘we’ll this is as straightforward as it gets. What the issue?!?’. I got it.

That sound more like their problem than yours. Glad you were able to get it.

I was not even aware of price protection and neither was my dealer when I took delivery in May. I ordered it in January. I just sucked it up and paid the additional $2k MSRP increase from order to delivery. Well today out of the blue, 6 months later, I received a check from the dealer for the difference. Kudos to Mauer Buick GMC in the Twin Cities for sending the check. Merry Christmas!

Now that is honest and great customer experience story!!!

Is anybody else in here still waiting on a 2022 AT4 that was ordered in January? It’s been almost a full year. My truck has been built with a VIN since May. Been parked in overflow lot ever since. GMC invoiced the dealer for the truck in September. Since then it hasn’t moved. Computer still shows its missing parts. Meanwhile I see the exact same truck as mine in 2023 version showing up weekly to the same dealer. GMC customer support won’t do anything. Been telling me to call back in 2 weeks since May. Dealer tells me it’s “stuck” and GMC has given them no recourse. I know others were dealing with same issue…is it still going around? Or just me? $10k more to buy the same truck in a 2023. I just want my F-ing truck!

I have the same problem. Reserved my 2022 AT4 last January. Order put in first week of February. Truck has been built, ordered it with the 6.2 and have been told that has been one of reasons for the delay. I think I ordered my truck from the same dealer as you ordered from in Bakersfield.

That’s interesting. Dealer has told me there is others in my situation. I just don’t get how there is nothing anybody can do about it. Let me buy a freakin truck off a lot for a discounted price. Just ANYTHING to feel like somebody is doing something to help a customer. It’s crazy. Mine has the 3.0 duramax. On any given day they will tell me that’s the issue for the hold up. But the truth is that it’s easier for GMC to continue trucks to completion that are coming off the assembly line than it is to retrofit the trucks that the piled in an overflow lot. It’s so unfair to consumers. And an added bonus is they are not losing money on price protection if they just never ship the trucks out that have been sitting forever. I’ve never been more frustrated with a transaction. But there is no other good options unfortunately. Good luck to you. No end in sight unfortunately.

I ordered mine in March it was built in Mexico on the 3rd of June without necessary chips. I have been lied to and given excuses for the last six months. The GM resolution team as dropped me and no longer updates me and referred me back to the Dealer. My Dealer has tried to get answers working with the regional sales manager, supposedly truck has chips now but there are shipping problems that have no end.
Close friend purchased a Chevy 3/4 ton last week Chevy sales manager told him there are a bunch of trucks sitting in Mexico with hail damage and GM doesn't know what to do. I looked it up and Mexico City had one foot of hail in June. My dealer and regional sales manger have not heard about it and the info they have on the computer shows no damage.
Extremely frustrating and the price increases have priced me out of a 2023 AT4. This is my 5th GM truck and I am no longer GM loyal, the company seems to not care about customers.

Still waiting on my 22 sitting in Mexico. While waiting I have started looking at some used low mile trucks. Currently looking at a 21 Trail Boss Premium Pkg. with a 5.3. Would like my new diesel but 20K less for this one and diesel prices so high this doesn't look that bad. Put a different 22 or 23 out of my head due to the loss of price protection.

My thoughts precisely. Out of all of this shit my biggest complaint is that GMC seems to care less. They offer no insight as to what it going on and give customers no way of getting any information. If you can’t get my truck shipped out for whatever reason…give me another option!! Give me some reason to want to give you my money. Apologize and offer me money back for the continued wait. Let me buy a truck off a lot from a dealer with the same price protection. Or at least something close. Literally ANYTHING. I’ve been telling the WORTHLESS GM resolution team for months…I would be happy if somebody just pretended to actually look into the issue for me rather than just reading a computer screen and telling me nothing else you can do. The horrible thing is that most people have a good experience. Anybody that ordered trucks after April/May have gotten them within 4/6 months with minor issues. They are screwing people that ordered 2022 models early and nobody seems to care.

Similar situation as you. Ordered at the beginning of the year, built first week of June, excuse after excuse on delays. Built in Ft Wayne, about 2 1/2 hours from me, shipped to Marion, OH for chips. Used GM chat yesterday, same BS as usual. Got a call from my resolution team lady this morning. My truck was delivered at 2am to the dealer. Called my dealer, sure enough it’s on their lot. I swung by to look at it on my way to work. Overall things looked ok. It was pretty dirty, dealership hadn’t done anything with it yet. Missing front rear park assist, steering column lock and front vent blowers. Very pissed it’s missing anything considering 2023 are just missing steering column lock, but happy that it’s finally here. Resolution team, dealer and gm chat knew nothing as of Tuesday. Part of shipping delays were waiting for GM to accept bids from shipping companies. Now that logistics team is scrambling to ship thousands. Very excited to take delivery tomorrow, but with how GM has handled everything, this will be the last GM vehicle I buy. Lastly, the dealer had the price protection price on the paperwork that came with the truck. I did lay eyes on the paperwork. So if dealers are trying to say that’s not the case, they’re just being shady.

Congrats on the truck. Almost exactly like my story. Mine is sitting in Fort Wayne still. Hasn’t moved an inch since it was parked in May. Computer still shows it’s missing parts. But the dealer was invoiced for it 3 months ago and at some point I was told they couldn’t send an invoice until the truck was complete. Nobody can seem to verify. GMC has been telling me it’s bayed and ready to ship for 5 months now. Dealer says different. Still sitting in the same overflow lot. Since then I’ve probably seen 100+ AT4s ship to my dealer. All ordered well after mine. God this is frustrating. Glad you are finally close to the end of this road. I’m like you. I just want it to be over. Stopped being excited about it a long long time ago. Don’t want to think about it again and I will never buy another truck from GMC after this. I wouldn’t buy this one if I had any better options. Dont really like any other trucks but more importantly they are all $10k more now. Buy used over market or keep waiting on this.
