2022 Refresh Order Experience

That’s awesome, yours is moving right along. I’ll definitely be visiting a new dealer this week. I ordered the same truck as you color and everything.
Can’t come soon enough. I want to pull the trigger on a few accessories (bed cover, intake & leveling kit) but I don’t want to get to far ahead of myself.

When you ordered did they take your reservation #? My dealer said because of my reservation the dealership was allocated a vehicle for me. Didn’t know if it was true or if they didn’t want me going down the street to another dealer

I've had a unit with a dealer since the end of December'21 - they are a Chevy / GMC store. Anyhow, this week they told me that they would not accept supplier discount because they are trying to survive and they are no getting the volume. I went to another local dealer - GMC / Cadillac in which they are a little bigger and they will accept my supplier as well. Ironically, my original dealer has approx. 15 orders most Denali's and they have not received 1 allocation yet for any of the refresh builds. The new dealer has had a couple Denali's and an AT4X. I believe the key is having the reservation which makes a difference unless a dealer has received an allocation.

I did (2) builds - AT4 Standard Box (6.2L, Premium Package, Sunroof, Technology, Mud-guards.) vs. AT4X (Rock Rails / Mudguards) I could go either way - the difference in price with supplier discount is $7K . Given they are making more AT4's (16%) vs. AT4X (5%) - I would probably get that quicker but no one knows. I know some dealers are marking up the AT4X and the Chevy ZR2 because of the limited production.

Everyone tells me if I have no intention of Off-roading why spend the extra for the AT4X.

With how everything is, I'd buy everything as soon as you can. I didn't order a new truck but for my 2019 I purchased last fall, I had to wait 6 weeks for wheels and tires from custom offsets and then 6 weeks for my bds lift due to supply chain b.s. I also had to wait like 3 months for my exhaust.

Although mine is not a 2022 AT4 refresh, I ordered a 2022 AT4 3500 back the first week of October. Dealer called 2nd week of February to confirm order and state that allocation was available. Truck was ordered on 2/11. Dealer stated it would somewhere between 4-8 months before I received the truck, but more likely in the 4-6 month timeframe. So, expecting my truck somewhere between June and October. So much for having the truck to pull my camper this summer. Will just have to get by with my 2015 Silverado 1500.

Thanks for the heads up! I think i will get a few items on order.

Received another update this afternoon, Event Code: 3000.

Update as of today. My order status changed to 3400 (ORDER BROADCAST FOR PRODUCTION ,LOADED ON ASSEMBLY PLANT COMPUTERS). The next event code in series is 3450 (IMPORT VEHICLE PRODUCED). It seems as if its getting pretty close to being done. GMC is still saying delivery of March 14th. Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes to manufacture a vehicle once it is on the line?

Side note, I noticed that GMC.COM finally has the build option working for the 2022 model Sierra's if anyone would like to see what their exact build will look like.

I ordered my refreshed AT4 last week (6.2 Crew Cab Short Box, Titanium Rush Metallic, 20 inch wheels, Premium and Technology packages). The dealer told me it was "picked up by the factor 3/1". I messaged on the GMC site and was told it has been "accepted and in the production process" whatever that means. I was also told to check back later for "production status". I assume that is when I will be seeing the status codes. As I said in another post I was told the heated steering wheel and heated seats will be retrofitted "hopefully by the end of summer". I will keep you guys posted. Thanks shank for the heads up on build option working!

I ended up revising my order and went with the AT4 Standard Bed (only $300 more) vs. ATX; 3.0L diesel, Summit White, Premium, Technology, 20" wheels (are a must !), Sunroof, and wheel well Arch Moldings. I was hedging for the Dynamic Blue and after building it out with the new configurator, it didn't work for me. I considered the TR, but too dark; wish they still made the Satin Steel. Hope my order gets picked up in the next couple of weeks - my understanding is GM pulls orders on Saturday and again on Tuesday, then dealers know by the following Thursday what has been picked up. Then, the dealer has until the following Tuesday to make any changes and goes to status 2000 - accepted for production), then the next day it goes to 3000 (accepted by production control) and cannot make any more changes. Net net you have a very short window after the dealer is notified for changes. It's not a bad thing.
