I asked my agent why my insurance is a few hundred more a year on my new truck..he said the price of the truck and price of repair costs in case of an accident.
You might want to disable the OnStar Smart Driver feature in your app to keep your insurance rates down.

I've tried everything but cliking the 'settings' on myGMC app does nothing, it won't open. Tried with the truck running, shut off, all logged in...............does it depend on which Onstar plan you have?

Towards the bottom of the Home Screen you should see a Trip overview and insights box that has a link to Smartdriver
If you are enrolled you will have an option to turn Smart Driver off. If you are not enrolled you should see a screen like this

Go to phone settings. From there, look for apps or applications settings. Scroll down to MyGMC app and select it. Find the Force Stop button and click it. Then scroll down and find storage and click that. You should have the option to clear both cache and data. Do both. You will then open the app and have to enter your login credentials. This should fix your problem.

No worries my man! This will work for any app issues that aren't fixed by simply rebooting your phone or device. Sometimes you can get away with just force stop and clearing the cache, sometimes not.
I got my LN report in Fridays mail. It has a link to LN's website with a 1 time use and a password, good for 30 days. It's a report in a pdf file. Mine is a 278 page report.

It has 1081 records of gm smart driver "flagged" events, for all 5 gm trucks. Each event shows the date, time start, time end, miles driven, name of owner, VIN, hard acceleration, hard braking, high speed event. LN must purge records cause the records were between 5-17-23 and 3-11-24 (when I shut smart driver off). It's been on since 2015, I guess.
It must "flag" a record whenever there is 1 event of the last 3 items. One event had 2 high speed events, 6 hard braking events and 1 high speed event. Needless to say my boy had a talking to.
My insurance on 2 personal trucks has NOT gone up, unless I add a truck. My farm insurance has NOT gone up and it has 9 trucks under it. My umbrella has NOT gone up.

The report shows my insurance company has inquired, it shows gm financial has inquired, it shows Credit Karma has inquired weekly. Needless to say credit Karma has been deleted and un-installed.
It has no information on the 3 gm mid-70's trucks, a 90, 93 and a 95 truck, all licensed.

Nope, gm got nabbed and deleted that portion from the app.
So it’s still running active somewhere if we have an active Onstar subscription? Is there anyway to shut that down or is that a default with the subscription service??
I'm sure gm is collecting the data. Doesn't matter if'n you have a subscription or not, if that onstar light is on, they're receiving data.
gm just can't sell it (data) for 5 years. This is from the 16th of this month...
