Wireless Carplay doesn't work without wifi?

Phone wasn't connected to wifi...But I turned just turned off wifi, shutdown engine, got outside, locked doors, back inside, restarted...same results.

CarPlay won’t work if you disable WiFi on your phone. I just checked here too.

OK I'm late to this conversation but I make it a point to turn off my Wi-Fi every time I leave the house and I use CarPlay every time I leave the house.

Like I said, it worked the 1st time I turned off the wifi on why phone, but not the 2nd...all I car is that it works for me.

From what I can tell he's a good guy and he's probably already laughing at what you posted. But without comparing every little tiny piece of data we can never know why there is an anomaly between the two experiences and we are only able to relate what we personally experience

Just a sidenote since I am still battling kidney stones I have not made the appointment for the hard update of my software.
I hope I don't lose my CarPlay when I finally go into the dealer.

I haven't either...I'm kinda on stance that I wait for .1234 version to come out before I jump on the update bandwagon. My wife & daughters update their phones as soon as the new IOS comes out...I'm usually 2/3 months behind them.
