Who has a solution for mounting bed canopy/cap on a Carbon Pro bed?

I'm on the hunt for a solution as well. This is not an area I researched before purchasing truck. It actually didn't cross my mind.

Here are pics from smartcap that a customer did on their own.

As mentioned earlier this is not recommended by smartcap. I'm sure all the cap manufacturers and dealers don't want to be on the hook for causing any bed failures.

I think I'd feel better with a turnbuckle tie down to one of the tie down points in the bed.

Well, now that my truck is gone, (stolen), I won’t be needing my softopper. If anyone wants it, make an offer… I’m in Houston/katy Tx

After many months of looking for a cap for my 2021 Carbon Pro, I designed and machined my own mounting solution for a SmartCap. I did not want to cut rectangles into my bed to accommodate the cheap/ugly C-clamps, so instead my design uses the pocket stake holes that are standard on GM trucks. All I had to do was remove the step-up handle and repurpose those holes for my mount and drill the same size holes on the opposing side. Lastly, just drilled some through holes in my SmartCap, and I was good to go. Ironically, SmartCap does this same technique with their Colorado version of the cap, but not for the Sierra one. I have had the cap mounted for a couple of weeks now with no issue and even better, no leaks.

I am entertaining the idea of making my mounting brackets for sale if there is enough interest.

Hey there, I’m currently in this spot and waiting to pull the trigger on a smartcap. I could definitely be interested in buying some brackets from you. Can you send a pic and let me know how much you’re asking? It’s hard to visualize your solution!

I'm interesting in buying a set and seeing pictures if you have time also!
