What's new

Well? This sucks!

Traveling to (or was!) Virginia when I stopped in South Carolina. Town withheld purposely. Woke up this morning to my truck broken into! Nothing valuable was inside as I had it in the room with me. Yes, that includes my firearm. It totally made my day suck! Insurance is on it and glass will be replaced Tuesday. Tint will be replaced (by my insurance) once I get back to Texas. Having something nice and you worked your arse off to get being vandalized is a terrible feeling. Just low lifes would rather spend their time STEALING something from those that WORK for it is sickening. It’s far worse than pure hatred. The thieves went straight for the center console and nothing else. I guess they were busy breaking into the TEN other trucks in the parking lot! Everyone was the same thing. Smash the right rear passenger window, go straight to the center console, STEAL anything valuable and move to the next one. All of which brings me to two questions and one point I’d like to make…

1- What kind of alarm system do you guys use?

2- Is the a good 360 camera surveillance system you guys know of or would recommend?

3- After speaking to my insurance today, there is a MAJOR rash nationwide of vehicle breakins just like this all across the country now. Guys? PLEASE be careful if you’re traveling and, if at all possible, stay in a hotel that’s not adjacent to a major highway.

I’m not going down any political road. I’m just asking mainly about alarm systems and surveillance cameras to monitor the exterior of our AT4’s while we’re not in them for travel purposes. View attachment 31004View attachment 31005View attachment 31005View attachment 31006View attachment 31007
Lowlifes is an ongoing problem and one that will probably never get solved. It’s best to stay in Tx👍🏻

for 8ok+, secret service should be guarding it
You're not kidding; I think I have close to $150k in mine including all accessories. Although I have a dashcam installed which instantly transmits and saves all events to the BlackVue Cloud, it's not really a deterrent. I'm seriously going to look into laminated windows for sure since I'm obliged to own the truck for at least five more years.

My f150 had motion sensors and would notify you by the app that the alarm was going off. It was sensitive enough to pick up a fly that was trapped in the truck. I thought these trucks had some similar features, alarm systems and locks only keep honest people out. Just had some things taken from my truck as well, not 100% sure where it happened, but I think it happened at the dealership. It is what it is And it sucks. Sorry this happened to you. In KY your vehicle is not your home and thus the self defense laws don’t apply, but wish you could protect it like it was. My friend just had his driver window broken out of his Silverado, 2 days ago, for a dollar. And my sister caught a guy testing door locks in her driveway at 4 Am the night before. Crooks are everywhere, and they usually don’t work alone. And we wonder why insurance is so high….

This is a problem every day every where a lock is for honest people a thief is going to steal no matter what. That being said where can you buy a pit bull with aids!
