Upfitter Switches.

Well it will be interesting to see what they come up with. GM has never really been that radical when it comes to changes with their trucks. Mostly small increments over a period of time. Ford had the raptor and GM didn't even seem to notice. Ram came out with the power wagon and GM was like "Meh, it's not that great" and then took several years to add the AT4X and ZR2 to the line up. Sooo we'll see I guess.

There are none for the refreshed at4hd and above trim.
This is frustrating, particularly for a new-to-GMC guy. Our 2008 Ford F250 and every ford since came with upfitter switches — because truck people like to add accessories.

Our Jeep wrangler has them too. For the same reason.

My new billion dollar 2500AT4x-AEV has the longest trim designation ever, and I have console buttons for all sorts of automations I don’t really need, but no switches to simplify accessory wiring. That also means no nifty plug-and-play aftermarket wiring harnesses to install rear-facing LED lights. There are tons of such solutions for other makes that come with fused upfitter switches with power run to the interior and exterior of the vehicle. For example, Offroad Alliance sells such a harness for RIGID backup lights for the Ford Raptor. It took me about 30 minutes to install those lights so they come on when the truck is put into reverse OR when I flip the switch. No feedback, no complexity, and everything is properly fused, clean, and “factory”. I can’t find similar solutions for GM trucks, so I have to rely on this community to help me reinvent the wheel every time. No matter what I do, I’ll have to hassle with getting wire through the firewall, a pain in the ass for an old goat like me, and I’ll have to install some non-factory switching — which never looks as good as the factory alternatives.

Crazy that they can be added on the "cheaper" Silverado for all of $150, but are not a factory option on the Sierra. At the time I ordered my truck, I drove an F-250 just for fun. It was a Lariat model and had 6 illuminated upfitter switches on the overhead panel. Super cool and I wish GM would do the same.
