Fastest way to find the rattle is an action camera.

It’s $50, live image mirrors to your phone. Use the included mounts, magnet, zip ties, or rubber twist ties to mount it in different places and narrow down the source/area of the noise.

With another person to help speed up moving the camera or driving, you’ll probably find it in 30min or less.

Curious if you got any further with this? I’ve got a 2024 Sierra 2500 with the exact same rattle. It’s been consistent since I bought the truck new in Spring 24’. Been to dealer 3 times for other issues and were never able to pin point. Only change I’ve noticed, is the noise is almost gone with aftermarket winter wheels. Stock rims seem to make it louder. Tried removing centre caps, heat shields, skid plates, brake rotor dust shields. Nothing seems to be the ultimate culprit.

Quick question - what is the PSI in your aftermarket tires? The stocks run close to 60-70 psi and when you hit a bump you certainly feel it. I’ve thought about dropping mine a bit to see if it quiets the noise given less vibration through the frame/suspension.

You mention grill. I took mine apart and swapped out bumpers. This makes me think maybe your tow hook rattling around? Have you tried pulling them left right and in/out to see if you can reproduce? Also try pressing around on your front fascia. The plastic piece under your headlights etc? Maybe the bumper itself? There are also small brackets that extend under the bumper to the frame for support

Yeah definitely not the tow hook, I already grabbed those and gave them a check when I first heard the noise.

The grilles on these trucks are the cheap ass plastic snap together junk that all these vehicle manufacturers are putting out now so that thing makes some noise if you tap on it or push on it but the noise in my video sounds more like a metal tinny noise.....And plastic that is tight or whatever sounds different when it releases, if you have a newer truck (2021-25) you can picture the noise given the plastic trim around the headunit that pops/creaks in the truck when driving, that is what I think of with plastic noises.

I agree with you. Strongly doubt it has anything to do with the grille. I swapped mine to a Denali drill and had the same sound before and after.

I’m running stock PSI in both sets of tires. No change there. I really feel like the source is brake parts.

What hitch are you running? Pulling at shoe strings at this point. Other than this darn rattle, truck has been flawless and best vehicle I’ve owned.

Same sound here on a 2022. Can't hear it with the windows up, same rattle with them down. I'm not with my tools, but I'm leaning toward shock or brake pads in the caliper.

That’s what I was thinking as well. It even says it on my service report that I believed the noise was coming from the brakes or shock.

Now the service manager told me that since we can’t hear this noise with windows up, GM may deny it as an warrantable issue. The service manager knows the noise was pretty bad so he is trying to address it. But not sure why they are focused on the grille given the video I provided.

Nope, I have not got this squared away yet.

Service tech thinks it’s the grille so they are replacing that but I told them I didn’t think the grille was an issue and they needed to look more towards suspension or brakes.

Unfortunately, my truck had a bigger issue pop up and ended up having a bad cylinder head on driver side of motor. That’s unrelated to this suspension noise issue but it’s been quite the ride with this truck since I got it in June 2025.

I’ll keep everyone posted once I get this thing squared away, it sounds like others are having similar problems.

Unfortunately, my truck had a bigger issue pop up and ended up having a bad cylinder head on driver side of motor. That’s unrelated to this suspension noise issue but it’s been quite the ride with this truck since I got it in June 2025.

I had a grille changed out after I hit a deer so that’s not the cause and that was 30K miles ago. Mine just started doing it at about 50k. I think I’m going to pull the pads and clips and take it for a ride. Sounds the caliper or something is rattling against the brake dust shield to me.

Yeah I expressed to the service tech & manager that the noise is coming from near the wheel well and not the front of the vehicle. I had enough video evidence showing this as well and they still acted like it was the grille that was an issue. Now I do think my grille had an issue as some of the parts seemed a tad loose but that noise was different than the one in my video when I was driving and hitting sharp bumps.

I personally thought the same thing regarding the dust shield as it seems to be a "tinny" noise which would make sense. All my bolts seem tight on the caliper & everything that holds that assembly together but who knows at this point. Mine started doing this around 1k miles but I didn't notice it until I was running around with my driver side window down so it might have been doing it right off the production line, not a 100% sure.

The noise also sounds like a loose brake pad that could be rattling/slapping around as well within those anti rattle clips. I was looking around on the internet trying to figure stuff out and that noise was extremely similar to what mine sounds like in the video....

My truck probably won't be finished up until late next week so I won't have much of a conclusion until they get the head replaced and that grille in. I think it'll probably end up staying at the dealership longer once they realize the grille isn't the problem.

Hey guys! Sorry for taking so long to check back in.

Mines a 24, been doing it since driven off the lot. Been at dealer 3 times for unrelated issues and techs were never able to recreate the sound or find anything out of the ordinary.

I swapped my SLT grille for a Denali grille, same sound remained.

My hitch is a BW MPT hitch, others with alternative hitches have the same sound.

My truck is the 6.6 GAS, others with Duramax have the same sound.

I have Air Lift bags in the rear.

I’ve been chasing this sound for almost 2 years. I’m confident it’s suspension or frame related in the drivers side wheel well area, possibly under the drivers seat area. Mine will only make the sound if the left front tire is making contact with road bumps. Brakes applied or not, sound is still present. Bumps on passenger side, no sound. Trailer on, sound still present.

I’ve checked the front shocks and all is tight and good. This has been the best GM truck I’ve owned, other than this noise, the truck has been flawless. I’m tempted to swap out the front shocks and see what happens.
