Searching GPS 2024 AT4 HD 2500

Can you provide what carplay box your using. That looks kind of interesting. I'm using my android phone but that may be better due to the fact you can display any app.

You bet! This is the carplay box I bought:

I paid $200 for it. Just last month it was down to $170, probably for Prime week or whatever they call it. I now see it is listed at $295.00, so it has gone up.

It works really well. It is not perfect, but overall I really like the ability to be running full android on our display.

I own a 2024 Sierra 1500 SLT which is new and has 1300 miles on it. Anyways the other day I see that the built in google maps are frozen and at the bottom it says “searching for gps”. I know it’s still connected to cellular/Wi-Fi because the times it’s forecasting me to get to work or home are slightly changing based on the traffic conditions but in terms of where google maps thinks I am, it’s frozen at the wrong location. As an added effect by the digital speedometer it also is also showing the incorrect speed limit based on the incorrect location.

I found this thread and didn’t really find a solution here but was able to solve the problem myself and wanted to share what I did. While in park, I held the end call butting for 15+ seconds to have the infotainment system reboot itself. The screen went black and after it did that, I released the end call button. After the reboot, I loaded up the built in google maps and it reflected the correct location. Hope this helps the next guy to read this …
