this is absolutely wrong. The truck does not have to be in "AUTO" (I never use this and my truck does the following): it will detect the outside temperature and adjust to it. So if you drove home at 5PM on an 80 degree day with the AC on and turned the truck off like that, but the next morning it is 32 degrees outside, the truck will heat the cabin automatically. This is all in the manual in the remote start climate control section.

The 15 minute auto-start runtime is not long enough for the truck to get fully warmed up when it's REALLY cold outside. Below zero, it'll barely register on the gauge after 15 minutes. Quite frankly, if you want your truck to be at the perfect interior temperature in sub-freezing weather, you need to auto-start it two or three times.

When it’s below freezing out you should plug in your diesel truck…the heater will help big time..Then when you remote start your truck the truck will make cabin heat much faster than if it wasn’t plugged in over night.

Block heaters don't turn on until temps are below zero. They don't do shit from 0-32.
But yes, you should plug it in when it's below zero. Not critical unless you see extended periods of time at sub-zero temps but i'll be damned if i'm not going to plug it in when it's so easy to do.

And while we are at it, there is a sitting in the infotainment system to engage the rear defroster and mirror heaters, upon start-up. Weither it is started with a remote start or push button start, depending on what the bcm is sensing from the solar sensor.

So again, taking all the information into account - set your system to auto and the temp you want. Then when you remote start the truck whatever is needed to achieve those temps will be done when it can be done.

No kidding captain clue… the system uses a climate sensor and adjusts accordingly. How else does it know to turn on the appropriate setting for when it’s hot (no heated steering wheel, and yes AC seats) versus cold (heated steering wheel and heated seats).
