Per gm, this is a phased recall. Eventually they all will be!

That is why I responded to @BlueBrute as to why his dealer told him his truck wasn't in the recall. He has a gasser.

I would put money on the '23 and later will be included in the recall, too.

Damn gm hasn't fixed the problem, but they continue to pump them out daily.

I have three recalls being addressed this Thursday at the dealer, this could be one of them, I have not checked.

gm is just worried about the 20-22's at this time. They, gm, is just putting software in, to monitor the problem. It will put the tranny into limp mode, supposedly 10k miles before the tranny might lock-up in the 7/8 shift.

Maybe the 23-on up has this software???

I remember the dealer reprogrammed tranny software not long after my purchase; its been flawless so far.

Good news! Asked the service writer if the Blue Brute was on the list for this recall. That's a negative!

I don't mean to piss in your Wheaties but it might be less than you think. This doesn't mean you have a good control valve body, it only means you already have the software GM is now offering us.

In 2022 GM started factory installing the monitoring software that they're now offering in this recall. That only means it has the software that monitors the wear and will put it into limp mode, rather than cause the axle lock up.
That's how we know that GM was well aware of this problem back in 2022 and continued to sell them, as is.

Since, in GM's eyes, the issue is the possibility of rear axle lock-up rather than the actual premature control valve wear, your vehicle is not on the list.
So, yes, your axle won't lock up but unfortunately yes, if you have a >2020 GM 10sp, you still have the same prematurely wearing control valve as us and most likely will have issues at some point.

So, since my 2020 is already in the lock-up phase, it sounds like I'll be in limp mode as soon as the software is installed.

Is your truck setting in the back lot at some dealership now? Or are you driving around in 5th gear?

Hopefully this issue will be resolved. Deal with it. Complaints to GM only compile. Maybe it will be dealt with in due time...

I don't have the software installed yet so no limp mode.
I'm able to drive mine. It has only happened while towing so I'm OK until next spring, hopefully.
I have an appointment at the dealer where I bought it (Alpine GMC in Littleton, CO) to see what my options are. I did give them a great review so I'm hoping they do what they can to help me out with this situation.

I also received this recall for my 21 HD and am conflicted about whether I should get the flash done. I have tranny tuning on my truck and haven't noticed any real shifting issues. Hmmmmm.

taking my truck in today for the recall last night on my way home a my Second CEL has come on since owning this truck. hope they can clear the code and put a bandaid on this transmission issue.

i still love this truck but it does make you think
