Recall: #N242454440 MOMENTARY REAR WHEEL LOCK-UP

Wasn't trying to offend anyone, I think it was a little off key to make a statement in that direction, and me being an American, I am totally MAGA and don't apologize for it. Best wishes
That's what I was saying as well.
I did not think you were offended or offensive and neither was I. In fact it appeared to me like you and I were trying to understand what each other was saying through a couple of comments in text that didn't make sense to either of us at first.

I'm 8th generation all American patriots serving our country and as MAGA as you can get.

For clarity:
My comment had nothing to do with our outstanding President Trump. It was about allowing failing business' to expire as is the natural order of things.

Well, I should have known it.
They have a fix.
Fix the actual transmission? Naaa.

Software.
F'n software. AKA a band-aid.

Software that will put the transmission into limp mode, limiting it to 5th gear, instead of it locking up the rear axle.
No, you won't die but your truck is still F'ed.
So now, when I'm somewhere in BFE pulling a trailer, I'll be stuck in 5th gear to get home.

GM is, without a doubt, the biggest piece of $hit company to ever grace this planet.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm actually going to the dealership tomorrow to get a couple things fixed that were agreed on when we purchased this 2021 2500 AT4 HD a week ago. So I'll be asking about this as well. I saw this article when it came out, but at the time I just blew it off because I still had a 2019!😂🤦🏼‍♂️ Which has the nefarious 8 speed! Yeah... I was planning on getting a new transmission from GM. 🙄

Actually thinking this over and something even more infuriating hit me.
GM will actually MAKE money on this "Recall".
The software patch is pretty much cost-free and all of us have to pay to get our transmissions actually fixed.

New member; Researching everyone else’s experience with this issue lead me here.
Just dropped off my ‘20 3500 yesterday for the recall and what I thought was an issue with torque converter turns out it’s the valve body. No ETA on part. Knew I should have stayed with the 6-speed 🤣

Special coverage for this, is 15 years/150,000 miles.

If it would fail after that time, I'd just drop a new tranny in or rebuild.

If you have a gasser, your truck isn't in the recall.
I believe that is incorrect. All of GM's 10sps are included. Not just the pseudo-Allison.
I say pseudo because the 10sp Allison is an Allison in name only. GM designed and built it with Allison giving their blessing on the design and even allowing the Allison badging.

How's that working for you, Allison?
Getting your reputation dragged through the shit by GM. Bet someone got fired over that decision.

That would explain why the non-Allison 10sps are included. They all, apparently, use the same POS Control Valve Body.

Welcome! Hope it resolves your issue.
