No trailer attached but still getting trailer light errors

Thanks @bigrackHack . I get the blinker on crack all the time. I pulled my trailer yesterday and no matter if hooked up or not i get the same issues.

What fuse box are you looking at? I only checked the one under the hood on the drivers side
Mine is on the passenger side. 2022 1500. I just looked and I can't remember which one it was. It happened months ago. I think it was a 15amp, but definitely one of the micro fuses. It was 10pm and knew I couldn't sleep until I'd fixed it. I pulled every fuse until I found the blown one. I didn't have a micro fuse so actually modified a larger fuse to bridge the gap and make sure the fuse was the problem. It corrected all the blinker and error issues. I hope this helps.

I took your approach and went through every fuse! I found a blown fuse #83 TIM and that fixed the problem. No idea what that fuse is...this is an HD BTW

I had just rewired the trailer pigtail and had a short, apparently, and blew the fuse. It was maddening, but whatever that fuse is, it makes you hate life for a little bit.

mine is a sh$tty little trailer i put my UTV on...wouldnt be suprised if there is a short in it somewhere.

In my limited experience, there are usually a few common problems with this type of stuff. None of them are all that easy to track down. A test light, a volt meter, a fuse box diagram, and a wiring diagram help a lot. Those problems include a bad ground, either on the trailer or truck, cut or shorted wires or a blown fuse.

Just upgraded to the AT4 2500 for better towing. Hooked up one of my trailers for the first time and immediately got light errors that were correct. Trailer is no longer connected but I’m still getting trailer light errors. Anyway to clear them?
My 2021 1500 gave me the warning messages about checking trailer lights and such.
Took the dealer and found out there corrosion in the trailer wiring harness. $480 later it was fixed.

2024 GMC HD towing a 2023 Airstream, I was getting trailer disconnected errors and left turn signal was flashing rapidly. Thought it was a trailer issue, had it in for service and they told me it was a truck issue that they have seen repeatedly. I took truck in for this issue and dealer immediately discovered the cause : SOP Trailer Lamp Control Module, part # 13544408. Dealer did not have part in stock so I will have to return to get installed and will report back. Dealer said LED lights on trailer don't pull enough power from truck and confuses the truck on connectivity. Hope this helps others with this issue.

Sooo...they upgrade the trucks with super fancy computers that only work with 100 year old incandescent light bulbs!?

UPDATE- truck goes in Wednesday 4/10 to have the Trailer Lamp Control Module installed, apparently this was a spac case (back ordered part) and now back in stock for those of us that need this module. Hope this helps.

2022 GMC 1500 AT4 x I had the same issues above, tried fuses and even a new trailer control module, nothing worked until I took apart the wiring harness going into the trailer control module and found a shorted and corroded wire. The copper had disintegrated. Spiced and used waterproof butt connectors and now working again without error.
