No trailer attached but still getting trailer light errors

exit out of trailer app? not sure...never had that problem with my '22 2500 HD. once i unplug, it seems to know I don't have a trailer anymore.

Yes, I’ve exited out of the app, but it continues to give me trailer lamp errors. Be going on for 5 days now.

A quick trip around the interwebs looking at this seems to think it is a problem with the connector or wiring harness. I would start with inspecting the 7 pin and even blowing it out with some compressed air. Move on from there including a trip to the dealer assuming its still under warranty.

Still getting trailer lights errors…..when NO trailer is attached. I’ve checked all the fuses, hooked up trailers with good lights and nothing. I have to clear 4 errors every time I turn on the truck and the blinker is Goins double time. Anybody know how to fix this?

I had a bad ground on the left side. Caused a left turn and check trailer lights errors on the dic. Repaired and no errors on dic.

I just recently got a Launch scanner. It scanned modules and said there was two errors on the trailering module, same that showed up previously. Cleared codes and they were gone. So somewhere in memory those errors are stored.

This is a 2023 hd. Maybe something to think about.

I have a 2021 HD (3500) so should be the same module. Does the Launch scanner plug into the OBD?

Mine did similar. It was a blown micro fuse in the box under the hood by the battery. Double speed blinker, "trailer error" message or something like that. It won't show any codes. You just have to go thru and pull the fuses and find it. If I remember, it was a 15amp. "Trailer control module" or something similar on the fuse box diagram.

Just upgraded to the AT4 2500 for better towing. Hooked up one of my trailers for the first time and immediately got light errors that were correct. Trailer is no longer connected but I’m still getting trailer light errors. Anyway to clear them?
Happened to me the first time hooking trailer up, brought it in and they fixed it but did not say what happened.

I installed a new trailer brake control module (under the spare tire), checked all the fuses, and used a DTC reader (no codes showing) and I am still getting the trailer brake errors on my display.

I'll go see what fuse it was I replaced. I had an identical issue, but I don't remember the details of what fuse it was I replaced. Oddly, it would double time blinker when trailer was unhooked, and would blink correctly when hooked up. And I also had the same message on the dash even after the trailer was unhooked.

Thanks @bigrackHack . I get the blinker on crack all the time. I pulled my trailer yesterday and no matter if hooked up or not i get the same issues.

What fuse box are you looking at? I only checked the one under the hood on the drivers side
