Looking for advice on de-raking, ride quality, and tire size on my 2026 Sierra 2500HD AT4 Duramax

I recently picked up a 2026 Sierra 2500HD AT4 Duramax with the Max Trailering Package, and I’m trying to figure out the best suspension setup.

My goals are pretty simple:
  • Get rid of most of the factory rake (I’d like it to sit level or very close to level).
  • Keep the modifications as simple as possible.
  • Maintain or improve ride quality—this truck is my daily driver.
  • I do light off-roading (forest roads, gravel, occasional trails), nothing extreme.
  • I tow an off-road camper that weighs around 7,000–8,000 lbs. I also have the factory rear overload spring from the Max Trailering Package, so I’d like to preserve good towing manners.
A few questions:
  1. What’s the simplest and best way to de-rake these trucks?
  2. If ride quality is the top priority, what shocks would you recommend? I’ve been looking at options like Fox, Bilstein, King, Carli, and Kryptonite, but I’d love to hear from people who have actually driven them. I don’t want a harsh ride.
  3. What’s the largest tire I can realistically fit with minimal modifications (no major trimming or cutting)? I’d prefer a taller tire rather than a wider one if possible. Can I do a 37 inch tire without a ton of extra work?
  4. If you were building this truck for 90% on-road, 10% light off-road, and regular towing, what suspension setup would you choose? I’m thinking bilstiens 5100.

I’d really appreciate hearing from those who have lived with their setups for a while. Thanks!

If you want the cheapest possible level you can just crank the keys to your liking.

If you want to do this the right way - what I run - kryptonite stage 3 level kit with the ultimate steering setup. I run the basic fox shocks and recently went up to 305/70/18. People have fit 37" tires but the problem you're going to run into adjusting the speedometer - unless you tune it, the only other option right now is a $900 module from rough country.
