My order is in! HD AT4

I think the ZR2 front end looks great. Both are incredible trucks and I was going between the at4 and zr2 since they're so similar in price. However a ZR2 gasser was not within 200 miles and there were only like 1-2 in the country with fifth wheel prep. And it seemed like if I ordered the ZR2 it was going to take longer to get.
I also like the front of the Silverado. The black plastic grill is much more simple and should not have a peeling problem. I was OK with the added cost for the GMC, but in reality, the Chevy is a much better deal if you don't need the goodies included on the GMC. Sunroof and tailgate audio are 2 things I really never wanted. When I build a ZR2, it is aa full 8k less than the AT4X, and actually includes 2 extra things - the upfitter switches and console safe / underseat storage (I did not add those to my GMC build). It does lose front bumper sensors for some reason, I would happily pay for them if offered. I don't think the ZR2 seats are real leather, but they honestly felt softer than regular AT4 seats. Maybe it is just the material. As for build time, I quickly found a dealer to order and sell at invoice cost. 1st on their allocation list, but they don't yet have one. The GMC went super fast at 7 weeks, but the dealer had the allocation ready to go when I placed a deposit. I am not in a rush, but after walking away from the gorgeous Sierra, I hope the ZR2 build gets grabbed sooner than later.

I've been through 3 salesmen in my order process. The last one called yesterday, I didnt even know the guy before him wasn't there anymore. He said April 19-21. I have a ride down there next Monday if needed so I'm hoping for a couple of days early.
Ok, now my guy is "unavailable" and new guy says the same, sometime around the 20th. Anything new on your end?

Website says April 16 (tomorrow) but my guy says 4/19-4/22, He's off the next two days. It's unlikely I will be able to get there this week unless it's Thursday. After that probably Monday for me.

Dealer called me today about my trade. A 18 Silverado 1500 w/49000 miles. Truck is pristine. Kelly Blue book has it at 28+ for trade value and NADA has it at 29+ for trade value. Anyone wanna guess what the dealer guy offered lol. Guess they gotta try to make money!

Probably 16k. I kept my '15. I ordered my ' 24 and during the build time I had to re-build the top end of the motor, then a new trans. Wasn't worth it to sell or trade after putting 12k into it. Now I use it for back up and any city work I have.

I’d guess 20k, try to sell on caredge.com/sell. You may be surprised what you get offered. As long as you are accurate you will 99% chance get the top offer.

You are excited about getting a new shiny truck, we all are. Nothing wrong with it. Most here are happy for you and excited along with you. Enjoy the excitement!
Mine is supposed to be built this week and so I am also excited and check the chatbot 3 times a day even though I realize they probably only update the databases on the daily results once a day in the evening.

I have noticed that it updates about once a week, usually on or about Wednesday ish

I dont think you ever gave up the answer.

Last December I sold my 15 SLT with 99000 on it for $23k at autonation.

My bad! They offered 26, their close but we need to have some discussion as to why they are 2-3 thousand under what every publication says it's worth.

They told me from the beginning that they cant offer a great deal on a trade because they are offering a great deal on the new. Part of the reason I sold elsewhere. I am aware of the sales tax savings I gave up but it was still the right move for me.

Try caravana, you dont even have to go there to get a firm offer. In 2021 I sold a 2011 Ram Dakota with them for $15. 3-4 years before, Car Max offered me $10K for that same vehicle.
