Ok I’m officially nerding out. I went down today to watch them stack starship on top of the booster. So cool. Got some good pics of the GMC too!

Incredible pics and trip.
Weather has improved drastically. Made camp on the beach yesterday and was invited to a Cybertruck beach party. There was around 35 Cybertrucks there. All I will say is this, what happens at a Cybertruck beach party, stays at a Cybertruck beach party. 
But seriously, one owner let me drive his down the beach to the Mexican border. I even did a hard launch and got it up to 100mph. The acceleration is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Cool experience but I’ll stick with the AT4X.

I haven’t posted in a few days because I’ve been in mostly a holding pattern due to the launch delays, due to weather. I did go to South Padre and did some of the obligatory gift shopping. There was 3 huge candy stores and I couldn’t pass up checking one out. I was not disappointed! They had everything, even those candy cigarettes I remember from my youth.
Today is the day though! We are leaving for the chartered boat to go watch the Starship 7 launch in a couple hours. Launch countdown has started and should go up at 4pm. The weather has improved drastically and only for a short window today and tomorrow before it gets bad again so hopefully the countdown proceeds as planned.

Oh I forgot to mention, I bought a drone so I should be able to get some really cool pics from here on out. It’s a DJI Avata 2 FPV drone. Not the best for pics but it’s a blast to fly around.
I want to know more about your experience with the DJI Avata 2 FPV; did you get the full combo with 3 batteries?
Yes. I took it out to the local RC flying field this morning. It’s a blast. I had a couple close calls with power lines because I was ripping around at full speed chasing cars along the road. There is a very fast learning curve with this drone. Control is very intuitive.
I was really on the fence between the Avata 2 and the Mini 4 Pro. They are 2 very different types of drones. In the end I thought that I would simply enjoy flying the Avata 2 FPV drone more and that I would get more use out of it.
I watched the launch of Starship 7 today. All I can really say is this; you need to experience it for yourself. When it lit, it looked like the world was about to catch fire. The sound moves loose clothing and rattles your bones.
I don’t have any pics on my phone because I used my DSLR and 600mm lens and I only got a few shots, mostly of the separation. I wanted to see everything with my own eyes, not staring at a lcd screen. I will post a few when I have time to pull them off my camera.

Love it. Funny you mention RC; I've been building and flying RC planes for over fifty years; mostly 4 stroke and 2 stroke nitro engines and several electric powered too. Strangely enough I've never invested in a drone; I think about time I did and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area we live in. I'm looking at various DJI camera drones.
So did you see the fireworks? That would have to be a once in a life experience!
When I lived in Jax, I got to see the space shuttle take off a few times. The night take offs are awesome.
What brand camera do you use and which 600mm lense?
I've been using Nikon for decades. Just recently picked up the full-frame mirrorless Nikon Z6iii
I've been in the RC world for a long time also. Only flew places a handful of times, I'm more into Helis.
Its crazy how when drones took off in popularity, so did the tech for flybarless system for helis
Interesting ! We should chat some on a private chat; I flew a helicopter decades ago and then stuck to fixed wing.
