Missing Chips on GMC Sierras

Hi everyone! I checked the GMC website yesterday 5/22 on my parking sensor retrofit status and it was not available. Today it is there! Just thought I would share that everyone should check again. I'm in a Refresh 22 purchased in September of 22.

Thanks for posting, I just went and checked and mine is available as of 5/23/23 also.

That’s great guys. My service dept said they have been doing several over the past few weeks and expect mine to be available in the coming weeks.

Search gmc retrofit lookup and you will find the link to the gm website where you enter your vin. I checked and mine was released yesterday so I’ve got it scheduled for June 12. They said they have to order the parts when you schedule it and it takes around 2 weeks for delivery. https://experience.gm.com/ownercenter/recalls

And I’m still waiting. Parts are on backorder. It would make to much sense for GM to release the retrofits by vin and have the parts available.

How many folks have actually received the parking sensor chip retro fit? I’ve yet to see one video that even shows this in action. I’m starting to think they just put those sensors in the bumpers for show!

I was at the dealer for a couple of hours but don't know how long it sat there before they got to it.

Dealer told me it would take all day and gave me a loaner car. However they called me about 2 hours later saying it was all done including an oil change and tire rotation. The advisor said "the programming went surprisingly easy" when I commented on the fast turnaround.

I semi waited but they had it done by 1130. Everything works as it should now. I just wished the cameras were activated automatically when the sensors pick up something.

Almost 3 months ago I was at the dealer for a service. An hour later they came to get me saying it was done and they also installed the missing F & R sensor parts, except for a missing module. Said that would be in within the next couple days and to finish the install would not take long at all. Now almost 3 months later, the module is still on backorder, or the say.

It’s weird. Retrofit became available and I scheduled service. Parts were then on back order and I waited a few months and finally got it done.
