Issue while replacing fender lights

So, I'm a moron. This isn't the first time I've been wrong and most certainly won't be the last time I'll be wrong in my life. Not sure why or how it happened but I got things mixed up and was trying to plug them in backwards. So, please disregard my complaints above regarding the Recon fender lights. I was wrong and they were right. The plugs fit and the lights look awesome.

That said, I'm not exactly thrilled with their customer support in how they handled the situation. The lights don't come step-by-step instructions with photos or even a video to walk you thru it. Still, it's my error for trying to get them in backwards. But, it would've been great to have solid instructions to show you how to properly install the lights.

Are they any brighter than the OE ones?

Not sure about Recons but Boost Auto orange / smoked / sequential are less bright than OE but visible enough. Installed the mirror lights too so all looks factory and match.

I purchased a set of smoked fender lights from Recon for my new 2024 2500 AT4. They look amazing, but sadly they don't all fit on the wiring clips. The female ends on the lights are just a hair too narrow to fit on the wiring posts. Only one of the four lights fit without issue. I was able to get a second light on by manhandling it and forcing it on (don't do that). I wrongly assumed I could get a 3rd light to fit and wound up snapping the post on the wiring clip.

I called Recon about the fitment issue and the guy played stupid claiming they've sold a ton of these kits and NEVER heard of any fitment issues. I obviously tossed our the BS flag as 3 of the 4 lights didn't fit. He asked for photos of the issues so they could see what's going on. While I was frustrated with the lack of customer support up front, I obliged by taking a series of photos with a digital caliper that clearly showed the opening on their lights were too narrow to fit over the posts. I sent the photos the same day (Tuesday of this week). I called an hour or so later to confirm receipt of the photos. The guy that answered was pretty cold and said they got the email but refused to say anything more as they were getting ready to close for the day. Mind you, it was only 3:52pm CT. He obviously didn't have an extra 30 seconds to just glance at the photos to say if they were what they needed or if they needed additional shots. Oh well.

I called back yesterday afternoon after not receiving any response yet from the company. A different guy answers and essentially repeats the same story that they've never had any issues with the fender lights not fitting. He said the engineers were still reviewing the case to see how they could assist with getting the lights mounted. I was speechless with that because the lights clearly don't fit as shown in the photos. I just need two replacement lights that will fit. I'm not sure why this is sooooo difficult. Anyway, he said he was resending the email to their engineers and asking them to see what can be done.

With that nonsense looming overhead, my truck sat eith the negative battery terminal removed for 2 days while I was hoping for overnighted replacement parts that obviously never came. I reinstalled the stock orange lights and put everything back together. Oh, and I replaced the wiring harness for the front passenger side as I broke the post on that one.

Anyway, I got everything back together and now neither passenger fender light works. The new lights on the driver's side work and they look awesome. Also, I got an alert from onStar saying all 4 of my tires are low (31psi).

Has anyone else had these issues when removing the negative battery cable? I'm not sure why two lights that worked before no longer function and why the tpms sensors are waaaayyy off.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Recon is an absolute joke. I got the same runaround when my fender marker lights wouldn't seat at the point of the electrical harness and work at the same time. They just play dumb and say they sell 1000s of them and never get complaints. So much for their so called "fitment guarantee".

Love to change mine to smoke but scared about rear install. Wish it was dropping a liner like the front.

Like others have said. Recon sucks! Went through all the same with them. I hope they get sued. Send back their crap, and order from Diode Dynamics. Their products and customer service are superior.

The "Recon" name isn't very pronounced. The price wasn't terrible and the quality appears to be good. My only issue with the brand is their customer service is bad.

Recon is terrible. Diode Dynamics is the way for quality.

Its not all that bad. buy a few fender clips before hand in case a few break

I went with Ebay fender lights. They fit and look great. Over a year old now. Invested the money saved and now my kid is going to college!
