Help: Need an Ideal Tonneau + Rack Setup

Don’t leave out the Pace Edwards UltraGroove. Comes in electric and manual with 5 year warranty. I preferred the UltraGroove electric over the Retrax bc the Ultra has a One button click Open/Close, one click to stop. The Retrax my brother has, the remote button had to be held the entire time. The UltraGroove has full length T-track and a manual release for the bedcover. The Retrax electric cover did not have a manual release if it quit or your battery was dead.
Thank you! That is a nice model, yet I'm leaning toward the versions that have the embedded t-rail system, such as the Retrax.

The Pace Edwards has the embedded T-rail from tailgate to cab. It’s on my truck right now.
Nothing against Retrax but I do have an entire canister with the cover rolled up in my shop. Had to be replaced brand new bc the whole thing leaked like a sieve.

Oh, interesting. Which Retrax model did you purchase? The Pro XR has t-slots the entire length. I chat with RealTruck tomorrow once more before making a purchase - I will compare the Retrax Pro XR with the Pace Edwards Ultragroove Manual (very curious which Retrax you have). Thanks!

Thank you for sharing these Peragon models! I REALLY like the Landmark model, yet neither appear to be compatible with a rack system. I'll inquire at the truck outfitter
Thank you! I think I'm leaning toward the t-rail setup that is integrated into a tonneau covers, such as the RealTruck Retrax system

i looked at all of the options above, and chose mine for a specific purpose. Lot’s of great options suggested here. The advice in this forum is great and you cant go wrong with whatever’s mentioned. Seems like you’ve done enough research to know what you want, trust your gut and pull trigger. Cool thing is now you get to look for the next thing. (best obsession ever)

Yes, but the problem is Amazon reviews are skewing my selection Retrax Pro XR is getting awful reviews for leaks, and one user here indicated he had the same problem with Retrax. I sincerely appreciate all the help but am at a loss for which to choose. The search continues.

I don’t remember the model but it was the all aluminum manual rollup into a canister with the key lock. They seem to change the model names every few years now but the covers are practically identical.

I am grateful for your warning! I ended up purchasing the Bak Revolver X4ts Hard Roll Up Tonneau Cover w/ T-Slot Rails. Saved me $1K (insane!). Plus, I avoided the canister entirely (more bed space, less chance for leaks). It's more secure than my last tonneau (metal slats under the vinyl), but also have the t-slots for optional racks. I also avoided lock and key - that just seemed like a problem waiting to happen, and one less thing to manage. :)

I had a ReTrax XR installed on my new 2025 last month. It's been through a ton of rain already with zero leaks. I've been extremely happy so far.

Thanks for the feedback - you are one of very few with positive feedback on that model. I ended up saving $1K (insane) and going with a compromise with the RealTruck Bak Revolver X4ts Hard Roll Up Tonneau Cover w/ T-Slot Rails.
