Oh I know it's a massive change. I've been told by folks who pull campers that I would want the long bed. Does it make that much difference over the 6.5'?

It's going to be a driveway queen for the most part, hopefully have a deer or two in the back. But eventually I'll use it.

Its actually 6'10"= 82" vs 8'2"=98" so a 16" difference.

Well, I did it this weekend! Found a deal I couldn't pass up. $5400 under MSRP. Laura GMC in Missouri made it easy. I flew over from Ohio, they picked me up from the airport. Everything was already completed electronically. I walked in, got the keys, did a walk around and drove off. So happy with this truck.

I couldn't find an 8' bed. Local dealership looked in inventory and didn't see any. I was going to order one through them, but they found out the thunderstorm grey is being retired. GMC stopped building them after March 17. At least I only found an article that refers to the 1500, LINK but the dealer said they couldn't order my 2500. So I had to find a standard bed I liked. I'm 100% okay with this bed. This is already a big change, but I'm happy with the truck.
