Grille trim question.

Been waiting on my dealership to get my repair covered under warranty and it sounds like GM is dragging their feet. When my grille came off it scratched my truck all up and did about $3k in damage. I have to replace the windshield, passenger window, the plastic between the passenger window and the rear passenger window and buff out a bunch of scratches. Ben waiting months for an approval from GM. Not sure what else I can do. Only 18k miles on the truck when it happened.

I'm surprised gm isn't telling you to use your insurance for the repairs minus the trim replacement!

This happened to my 2022 1500 AT4. I'm pretty sure it was from damage caused by automatic carwashes. It flew off while driving down the interstate. All the clips were broken off and the keepers were still in the sockets. My truck was still under the 36,000 mile warranty. Luckily the commercial service shop at the dealer covered it under warranty. I told them that it blew off driving down the interstate. i didn't mention the carwash thing. They did have to order the entire grill with the front camera et al. The service ticket said they removed the trim from the new grill, and install it on my old grill bottom. GM really needs to separate these part in there system, and FIX the problem at manufacturing! They can't really expect us to not be able to run the truck through a carwash.

Finally!

Ohhh I see it's '22 only. Guess it'll be a while until they include every other year after.

My 22.5 is at the dealer for this recall. They send it to a body shop for the repair. I’ll ask when I pick it up but does anyone know what the repair consists of? Also on star module went out so they are fixing that. Got a base 2025 sierra as a loaner with the 4 banger. Decent torque but it sounds awful.

Picked it up today, on star module on back order so I’ll have to take it back and then get on star to extend my service for however long it’s out. I’m gonna shoot for a free year of data service for my inconvenience, we’ll see. So they don’t replace the grill piece, just take it off and reinforce it.

Is this for the '22 refresh, limited or both? I have a limited (early 2022). I don't need another worry beyond my 6.2:)
