You're welcome! I believe the company's website even has the directions
I've been eye balling this one. I'll pull the trigger when I have time to install it. Really like the "factory" look without having a separate camera hanging from the windshield.
Installed mine last night. Pretty simple. You're welcome! I believe the company's website even has the directions
I just watched the detailed DR970X-2CH LTE Plis (NA) review by the same person and I feel I need to wait a bit for Blackvue to improve their dashcam. The GMC (aka Thinkware 3000) has HDR which the Blackvue does not. Without clear licence plate recognition, its no point. I do like the Blackvue Cloud offering which I'm keen on when they get their act together to be close to the best. In the meantime I'm still waiting for the GMC Dashcam to arrive which I've already paid for.
His reviews are in-depth and the best.I kind of went into a dashcam related rabbit hole and there seems to be some dashcam that have managed to get better at capturing license plate numbers. Check this one out:
I did not want to upgrade mine, but I might could get that Cansonic S3+ after all.
I wonder the same thing. Why not having a OEM dashcam system with feeds from all the cameras already on the truck, including the rearview mirror and tailgate cameras!Following extensive research, I ordered the BlackVue DR970X-2CH LTE Plus 4K UHD Cloud Dash plus BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 Dash Cam Battery Pack both from BlackboxMyCar; scheduled install also by BlackboxMyCar during first week of April since I'm busy until then. Sure could have installed it myself but for a few bucks more I will leave it to the experts who do this day in day out. A serious contender was the Thinkware U3000 however it lacks built in LTE, Cloud and remote monitoring. The rear camera of the BlackVue DR970X-2CH LTE is apparently not as good (in specs) as the U3000 and I may later install a third Blackvue 4K UHD camera on the rear if a firmware upgrade permits or another brand, somewhere close to licence plate. My AT4X AEV is so high, I feel I will miss activities close to behind the tailgate; shame I can't use the built in GMC tailgate camera. For the price we paid, one would expect all vehicle cameras would integrate with a dashcam; perhaps the 2028 model will have it![]()
Thats a pipe dream. In practical terms, any vehicle built in cameras such as the GMC or millions of other brand vehicles, don't yet have sophisticated 4K UHD sensors, lenses etc. for picture quality, licence plate views. All this is likely to change in a few years and I expect OEM dashcams to be as good as very expensive dahscams we have today. Look at phone, apple play, navigation etc, which used to be external devices and now come standard, Unfortunately I cannot wait for that to happen; perhaps my next truck will have it.I wonder the same thing. Why not having a OEM dashcam system with feeds from all the cameras already on the truck, including the rearview mirror and tailgate cameras!
