Where did you find the PDF that listed the BCM pinouts? I have been looking on the Uplifter site and can't find them.

There is fun frustrating thing I figured out with the GM upfitter diagrams. If they feed two same color wires into the same Pin location on a connector, Ex- BCM X2 pin 5 has two VT/GN wires the Diagram lists only 1 wire( two different colors are always listed on the same Pin). One feeds the puddle lamp under the mirror and the other feeds the electric step lights.Where did you find the PDF that listed the BCM pinouts? So there's guy on a different forum that figured out how to trigger an aftermarket LED strip using a pinout from the BCM:Nope! Just haven't had the time. The steps light project will have to wait until spring time due to other unrelated projects.

Project Running Board Lights Is A Success
Project I have been working on. Just had to figure out the refresh BCM. The black BCM module closest to the firewall has pin #1 open for adding accessory lights. I used a set of 60" MICTUNING cargo led strips. The black connector is a pain to get out. It is in close quarters to the firewall and h...www.gm-trucks.com
Wonder if you'd just be able to jumper from the pin in the thread above to the trigger wire for the factory strip (and use a diode to prevent voltage feedback)....?
lol! Thanks! I've been wanting to figure out how to do this on my truck and I just stumbled across the other thread, which lead me down a rabbit hole lol! Saw this thread and decided to join and post to see if anyone is ambitious enough to try it... I'm guessing it's totally doable as I think diode jumpers is what shops like Boost Auto use to let you trigger the rest of the factory lighting on these trucks...Welcome.
What is in that other forum does work. I ran a wire off that to a coupe of small 3/4” leds as well as to trigger a relay(it’s diode isolated as well to prevent feedback).lol! Thanks! Awesome! So safe to assume that pin is just a straight 12 volt output? What is in that other forum does work. I ran a wire off that to a coupe of small 3/4” leds as well as to trigger a relay(it’s diode isolated as well to prevent feedback).
My relay source power at the knee bolster fuse panel and I have two output wires, one run to each board and tied into the led wiring. I could not find inside where to trigger the running board leds so I just ran all the way to each board for now. I may poke around a little more and see if I can find a trigger inside for the board lights.
But now my boards work just like the dome lights except for the fade in - fade out, due to them being off the relay.
