I went through a similar wait and wondered about break-in rules too. When my dealer took forever, I checked out enginezone.com.au for a backup plan. They have new crate engines with a fitment guarantee and free shipping, so I felt better knowing a quick swap was possible if needed.

I had mine replaced too. I did an early oil change at 500 miles and added a magnetic drain plug, just for peace of mind. No break-in needed per the dealer, and I've had no issues since.

I did the same. I don't think it'll save anything, but it could provide a bit of a heads up if something is going to go south. I also have sent my oil off to get analyzed after each oil change, and the last time I cut open my oil filter.

This all could be over the top, but I'd argue having my engine seize on me in -5F middle of nowhere is over the top. So at least this level of over the top helps position me to succeed.

2022 At4x my truck seemed great no issues but I failed the test first one out of 60 they did and they replaced mine only had 14k on it but now the replacement engine has a knock and sounds like I’m going to need another engine the dealer said only have 6k on the replacement engine and the knock is noticeable just waiting for them to get a loaner for me to bring it in again
