I have a new 2026 Sierra AT4. I have noticed that the stock running boards do not come very clean after a car wash. What is the best way to clean them. They are very textured. I imagine a good stiff brush and some cleaner of some kind. Anyone know of a good protectant I can spray on them that will help keep the dirt minimized or at least easier to come off?

I have the stock running boards and what works best for me is when I am washing the car to use a stiff nylon brush to clean the boards with soap/water. After everything has dried, I spray 303 on it, wipe the sides of the truck due to overspray and they look brand new. I also use 303 on the truck bed liner and it still looks brand new. Give it a try and hopefully you like the results.

@HLR925 Thanks. Never heard of that stuff before. I just ordered some. I'll let you know how it works for me

Hope it is what you are looking for. I use the marine protectant version, however I think the exterior one they have in the blue bottle is exactly the same. Either way all their products are great, including their tire shine if you like that wet tire look. What I like about it, is my bed liner is so clean looking and doesn't have the faded look. Anyways, hope it works for you.

sorry, last thing to add. When you spray it on you will see white drops from the spray on the running board and the bed liner. No need to brush it in, just let it all sit and it will soak in, and you are good to go.
