Buying Used - What to look for?

One of the reasons we are extremely short of newer used trucks in Canada is because the Canadian dealers sell them south of the border and have been doing this on and off depending on exchange rate and supply for more than 20 years.
I haven't owned a 6.2 but have heard that the gas engines have had some lifter problems since they went to the cylinder deactivation but no idea how you would check to see other than run the VIN number past a dealer service center and see if there are or were any issues. They should be able to give you the warranty history. :)

I would buy a warranty if they sell one, I had it literally pay for itself on my 2022 denali ultimate, about 500 miles outside of gm warranty my screen went out, GM denied the claim but my extended paid for it, literally 1900 dollar repair, then after that I had my active air shutter went out also about a 2000 dollar repair including other stuff that needed to be replaced, I paid only 2900 for the warranty in total but I just canceled it because I traded it in, because I canceled it they gave me a prorated refund of about 1700 bucks ish so I came out way ahead, BUT!!! From what I hear there are good and bad extended warranties out there do your research and ask questions like if it's an out-of-pocket warranty and you get reimbursed (DONT DO THIS KIND) or if they require you to do all service work there that also is bad, the one I got was absolutely great and ill never not do it, haven't had one issue with claims!!

Great advise. Also, if you can, take the truck to YOUR mechanic and have him check it out.

Any reason why?
It's just how the market is here in the southeast. My friend manages 3 mega dealerships, and says it's just industry standard here. Everything is in KM/Metric on the dash for the 2021s and older, is a minor thing. They also tend to have rust risk, and mostly it's just the "brand" of being a Canadian truck. Most in my area are former Canadian govt trucks, which means probably minimal maintenance and driven to shit
