Bose System Subwoofer?

I had a 2017 Ram 2500 with the alpine system and it was better for bass at least, from what I remember. The Alpine in the ram system sounded good unless you went more that 1/2 to 3/4 volume and then it got really tinny.

We have the alpine system in my wife’s 2020 wrangler and it sounds great, even with the top off. CDJR products usually have good sounding audio systems.

Same here, wife has the factory alpine system in her Wrangler and it does sound great, way better than the one that was in the Ram. Big sub and it hits. Don't understand why GMC went with a front sub anyway, should be somewhere in the back of the cab. Working on fixing that.

I installed an 8” w7 under rear seat in my at4x. Had to build custom box but it all sounds very good with the new sub. There are a few settings in the audio settings menu you can play with to optimize it to your liking.

So you had to add your own sub to make it sound better? Doesn’t it already come with a sub from factory?

The factory subwoofer isn’t great. The at4x has the premium Bose which surprised me with how unremarkable it was when I first bought the truck. I haven’t listened to compare between the at4x and another refresh truck with the “standard” Bose. I just know I needed more bass.

'23 AT4 is my first GM, coming from RAM. The Bose speakers are the worse speakers I ever heard. I immediately ordered new speakers and even overnighted them. I did JL Audio C1-690 in the front doors, JL Audio C1-650x in the backdoor, and Kicker 47KSC2704 in the dash. HUGE difference.

Y’all have my brain in overdrive with the sound issues. I messed around with the EQ settings a little today. The sound changes significantly depending on what you listen to. I think GM went all in on the look of the new touchscreen but shorted us on the brains behind it. I’m really considering the JL C1 swap.

I want better sound but I also don’t want to spend 10k on a Focal system.
My luck I‘d drop some cash on speakers and still be mad because you can’t really tune anything with the current head unit.

The factory AT4X sound system is great and thumps pretty hard …..it is just not going to be heard from blocks away like I wanted when I was 18.

It is better than the HK system I had in my BMW 550i.

Well yeah don’t really care if people hear my music blocks away haha. Not in my 20s anymore so just hope the system is better overall compared to the alpine in my ram

Haha same. I feel it is more than adequate for a 41 year old suburban dad.

@Rocky - Your setup must sound unreal with the sub added !

I would love to see a picture of this "sub" that is under the center console from anyone who has really looked for it. I'm not convinced that it is actually there.

I have a 2023 AT4X and the Bose system is terrible. I am in the process of designing a whole new system for the truck. (to be honest I have had the truck for about a month and this is the longest I ever kept a factory system) the only draw back right now, for me, is that I am keeping the radio in the truck and I need the module to integrate it with after market amps .... this module is not out yet. It is in testing from what the manufacturer is telling me. The whole Bose amp and sub are more less a joke in my opinion. The "SUB" is more of ( or was in my last truck) a oval shaped 6" speaker that puts more of a mid bass out and the you have to keep the Bose amp in the truck because it controls other functions besides the sound. The center speaker on the dash is more a sound filler due to the "lack" of good sound from the rest of the speakers in the truck. Again this is my opinion....

The module is the reason I haven't done anything yet either. I want proper integration without a bunch of wire cutting.

Have a ram right now with alpine system and it’s decent for how many speakers it is. Waiting on trading it in for Sierra at4x diesel. Hoping the higher end Bose system will be better or at least on par with the Harmon/kardon in the rams

It will be NOWHERE near the Harmon Kardon! I can promise that!
