Bose System Subwoofer?

Does my 2022.5 AT4 w/ Bose system have a factory sub? It sure doesn’t sound like it. One of my ONLY gripes about this truck is sound system! The Harmon Kardon in the OTHER 3 letter name manufacturer, is AMAZING! Hell, even the Alpine (mid tier) system sounded better!

It has a 6.5" "sub" under the center console somewhere. I wouldn't really call it a subwoofer but they do. The Bose audio is terrible honestly.

Yeah, my last Bose was in a 2013 Avalanche and it was horrible! I thought to myself, surely they would’ve fixed them by now

Thanks for asking this question, I thought the exact same thing about mine. About every other week, I go into the equalizer setting to see if the bass is turned down but, nope, max setting. I think mine sounds ok, but I could sure use more bass and better rear sound stage. I can't hear the rear door speakers at all. More of a center sound stage would be nice. Probably be one of the first significant upgrades I do since so far I pretty much like everything else about the truck.

Yeah, I would like to upgrade my sound too! I do the same with EQ, haha! The Harmon Kardon really spoiled me. I’m curious to know if that Kicker GM add on is worth it. Kinda like polishing a turd, I guess!

I think it’s worse in the refresh. I don’t remember my ‘21 sounding as bad.

I’ve read that in a few threads! That’s a shame! You would think GM would get more out of Bose with a long term contract like this.

Have a ram right now with alpine system and it’s decent for how many speakers it is. Waiting on trading it in for Sierra at4x diesel. Hoping the higher end Bose system will be better or at least on par with the Harmon/kardon in the rams

Yikes even with the at4x premium Bose system? Couldn’t find any real reviews on it. On my wife’s 21’ yukon the Bose system in it is not bad.

It’s 100x better then the Bose system I had in my 2008 Avalanche.

'23 AT4 is my first GM, coming from RAM. The Bose speakers are the worse speakers I ever heard. I immediately ordered new speakers and even overnighted them. I did JL Audio C1-690 in the front doors, JL Audio C1-650x in the backdoor, and Kicker 47KSC2704 in the dash. HUGE difference.

I spent some time improving the sound by adjusting my iPhone. Set EQ to Jazz or classical, Dolby atmos always on, cellular streaming at least to High quality. Helped somewhat

Those are 4 ohm speakers - they’re not having any issues driven by the Bose amp or did you do an amp as well??

I had a 2017 Ram 2500 with the alpine system and it was better for bass at least, from what I remember. The Alpine in the ram system sounded good unless you went more that 1/2 to 3/4 volume and then it got really tinny.
