Looks Great!
Thank you! Benefits of living in a smaller city: you came up with the guy that owns one of the two bigger tire shops in town and hunt with the guy that owns the other one. We went through a few setups to see which size fit, which size rubbed, which came too close to the UCA, etc. The 295/70R18 in the Nitto Trials seem to be the Goldilocks.Looks Great!
Right. I think they’ll look great. The only reason, other than an absence of patience, for switching out the tires sooner was that they gave me more money on trade for tires that had less than 100 miles on them.I am thinking Toyo MT’s. 285/70/18. They are .4 inch shorter and .4 in narrower than your 295’s. That should make um a shoe in. I am in a Black one as well, so your pics just make me drool more, but wanting to wait till fall and deer season. Why not wear out what came on it this summer
It didn’t even occur to me to flip the block in the rear to level, that looks much better than stock. I had considered leveling the front to accomplish the same thing, but I want to wait a minute until more kits come out to ensure I use a quality, tested kit. Looks really good the way you have it set up, though.View attachment 1870Hey Old Guard, here is my truck. I flipped the block on the back axle (yes it lowered a bit) but filled up the back wheel well.
I plan to do the same if/when mine comes in. I'm thinking about removing the block, not flipping it.View attachment 1870Hey Old Guard, here is my truck. I flipped the block on the back axle (yes it lowered a bit) but filled up the back wheel well.
Looks good, the final check will be when you do some off camber stuff like driving through a ditch etc, but even a slight rub shouldn't be a problem if you take it easy.I put 295/70R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on my otherwise stock AT4X (i.e., not lifted or leveled). I was concerned about the fitment because of the UCA and the tires rubbing portions of the fender well at full lock, but I can fit my index finger to mid-knuckle between the tire and UCA and haven’t rubbed at full lock or on a hard turning incline.
That's a good idea. It appears that there is some squat, or is it just the picture? If it's is squating do you think by removing the block it would level the truck? That was my original thought. However, the u-bolts will be to long without it- so you will have to buy new ones. After I saw that, I figured flipping it would also “store” the block and keep u-bolts in case I wanna ever reinstall.
Ha, true...With the block above the axle, it has no effect on height.
