AT4X - Another tire thread

Blizzy - You are correct; the 2023+ AT4X comes stock w/ 275/70/18 (or least mine did!). My truck is still 100% stock with the 275/70/18s so if you think it would be helpful, let me know and I can post some pixs. But I'm assuming you are looking for pixs of aftermarket set ups?
No please post a photo. Just trying to see if the 275/70 is worth it or if I should look to try and fit a different slightly bigger size in the wheel wells

anyone running 35's with 18" rims with just the stock 2" lift that can advise how much trimming i need to do? i have a 23 at4x with the AEV front bumper. currently my truck is sitting at 40" with stock tires on it

Sorry mines a 2500HD. I think there's been a few folk trying different tire/wheel combos.

I have a 2022 AT4X…

STOCK: 265 / 65 / R18 tires.

I’m thinking of replacing the stock with…
BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3
LT275 / 70 R18

Thoughts, should I expect any rubbing with this size tire? Will I need to trim?

You should be able to do 285/75 18's with out any issues or at most little to no trimming. So you will have no issues. You can click on the link in my signature to show you what I'm running.

Had to have some of the plastic trimmed out in the fender well and the mudflap. Other than that no rub. 285/75/18. No level

Any rubbing on this setup? Do you know what the offset is on the stock Salta wheel?

18x8.5 +26 offset

FYI, "IS" is the German term for Innen-Schüssel-Abstand (offset), often used interchangeably with "ET" (Einpresstiefe). See pics below.

I just put kmc wheels (O offset). Nokian 295/70/18. They’ve been on a week and although I’ve had to park in Toronto basically on snowbanks and this has resulted in zero rubbing. I can’t guarantee zero at 100percent articulation, but there does seem to be more room then the internet would have you believe. No triming either. Now , to the tires the Nokian is a slept on tire imo. They are popular in the raptor scene as there the only full winter tire in stock size (315/70/17). I had great experience with them and still have them (both winter and “outpost” ) on my raptor . So I just put outposts on my at4x. Worth a google for sure. Night day difference between them and things like duratracs and the ko2s of the world. In really every aspect there better.

Nope, no rubbing at full lock.

Have you had this offroad and do the tires rub under full flex/articulation?

Also, when you installed the bigger tires did you already have the Peak 1" level done? But I'm a bit confused. Your signature says 1" level for the front but also a 1" block in the back. Also, does your 4A still work? I've noticed some of the level kits say you lose 4A which is unacceptable to me.

Several other questions:

1. Was this the kit you used for the front?

2. Was this the kit you used for the rear?

3. Some leveling kits talk about loss of 4A which is unacceptable to me. Did your method retain 4A?

4. I noticed these clarifications on the Peak site:

*Testing Completed on a 2022 Silverado ZR2 , exact level achieved*
**Perfect level may not be achieved on Duramax equipped vehicles or vehicles with AEV bumpers

I'm guessing maybe that AEV bumper is a little heavier than stock, which is why you also did the blocks?

5. I also saw in the reviews where another person said they had to do the extra collars to get level. But it has the caveat that this requires new UCA's. We're quickly going down the rabbit hole, lol, but I think this is the kit they may have been talking about. Did you require this too along with new UCA's?

For reference, my AT4X has the Duramax & the stock 18x8.5 +26 wheels

here is my set up .

Sweet ride! Love that red on these trucks, especially with black accents.

My wife has an Explorer ST with near same red color, black wheels & black highlights. She knows how much I like it and said I couldn't copy her, lol. Funny thing is we found it by pure luck -- was wanting a black on black and was going to special order but she decided to "settle" for the red. Great decision IMO, but I was hot on it when I first saw it. By the way, if you aren't aware the ST is the Raptor of the Explorers. Minor mods and it runs high 11's in the quarter. Crazy nice, loads of performance & does all the family stuff too. Great bang for the buck.

FWIW, I have heard of Nokian tires. Had a few Canadian buddies and they rave about them. Mostly hear about them for winter performance as you noted.

We’re living in similar worlds….. mine has a jeep 4xe which has been a bit of a disaster. So we’re in a switch up period now, I was pushing the explored st. With a tune and some set up they absolutely rip. Strangly, she said said that wasent a priority. So feeling like genesis gv is in the pipeline. lol .
Ps Nokians are good in all seasons .. lol
