With 68,000 Ibs Break Strength...yeah, I guess I'm good with it. Like I said, I've only used it to pull a dead tree out of the ground.

I don't want to put words into your brain, but I'm thinking that you're thinking no slop like a hitch pin or bolting something together. You will not want that clevis pin "tight/no slop" fitment. Not saying your tires have enough traction to bend the clevis pin, but you do not want that pin to bend, you'll have to cut it apart.
A ⅞ pin in a 1⅛ hole is only ⅛ slop per "side of a circle". What you do want is relatively no slop side to side of the clevis to anchor point...aka the tow hook.

Well, I like things to fit perfect, no compromise there. I'll be ordering shackles/pins, matching size requirements of our larger hooks. If I was content with 7/8" pins, I could easily grind outside edges of the tow hooks or inside edges of the shackles to make them fit however neither is acceptable to me. AEV sell shackles with 1" pins or I could order 1" with 1.13" pins from Amazon MYTEE Products with a WLL of 8.5 tons 17,000 lbs
The tow hook hole is actually 1.2" aka 1 3/16". A 1" pin would leave a .1" aka 3/32" slop all around or I can go with a 1.13" pin which may not leave much slop at all and perhaps close to tight. One with 1" pin from Amazon are red have a WLL of 6.5 tons/13,000lbs whilst 1" pin shackles from AEV are rated at 17,000lbs but have galvanized look with a Gold Zinc Pin and comparitively more expensive because its AEV
Need to decide which ones to go for. Perhaps just get one set and store them in the vehicle unless I want the red ones to be hanging front and rear for looks. Decisions Decisions
I think I'm regretting ordering through GEAR AMERICA; they were quick to grab my money but are being elusive for return communication especially when I asked for a shipping label and cost of return shipping. I have a feeling it may take a long time to get my money back if I return the goods. Fortunately I paid via Amazon Pay; not sure if it helps although have raised an issue with Amazon. I just realized I could have ordered the same stuff directly through Amazon which would have made returns a breeze. Even I do stupid stuff sometimes

You could also just keep the shackles, I have a few sets of them, and they come in handy for linking multiple tow ropes together, hooking up to trees, and using your snatch block. Keeps you from having to take the ones already connected to your truck. Just keep them in the back, and use when needed. I'll just keep them. A pair of 45,000lb break strength soft shackles just arrived. For the hard ones to attach to the truck, I'll just order from Amazon with 1" pin and 1.44" shackle gap 13,000lb WLL which will comfortably fit tow hooks; not quite as snazzy as the ones you have with 7/8" pins.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BG52H7D6/?tag=at4forum-20

Thats a very good point. Do I want the larger (functional) red dangly things hanging from the front and rear, and look like a recovery truck? I'm having second thoughts. If thinking of fashion and not returning the 3/4" black shackles with 7/8" pins I still have from Gear America, they will need their throats ground on the grinding wheel, to make them fit over the tow hooks, unlike your Amazon ones that fit out of the box; they may start rusting for all I know. Any opinion on that?

Even if you need to grind them down a little, just paint them, and your the rubber washers "isolaters" and they shouldn't rust. Keep the functional ones in the back for putting in work.
Not easy to grind I realized, I checked while emulating a grind at the grinder in my shop. I'll try and send these back even if it takes a while and I'll take a loss on shipping; further shackle purchases on hold for now.

Your front hook width measurement shows 1.25" (see your pic above) whilst mine is 1.33" on my AEV, strange but true; specs on Amazon show the shackle mouth gap should be 1-1/3" however reviews state the gap is 1-1/4". I'm trying to locate a 3/4" shackle with a 1-1/3" mouth gap. Although I have a set of four 7/8" 6 ton shackles with 1" pins which are great for the rear however they don't fit the front due to my fog lamp mount protuding out, hence planning to order a smaller set for the front for emergency use although I have a set of soft shackles which should be more than adequate for emergency use up front.
