AT4 Performance Exhaust Upgrade Confusion

I had the S - Type Borla installed on my 2023 AT4X AEV Edition, now the V8 sounds like a V8 truck should sound like. Very pleased with the overall performance, not sure if HP has improved any but did gain an extra 5 mpg. Ordered through GMC accessories which comes with the Borla and GMC warranties.

So confusing. Wish they explained it better. Latest I heard, is the GM marketed performance exhaust gives a horsepower boost, while the Borla option in the accessories section is sound only. Now, what HP boost and what sound boost these options are, who knows.

Any aftermarket exhaust or a GM performance exhaust (which will likely be built by a supplier partner - Borla or Corsa) will give you HP gains in the higher RPM's. Your butt dyno will not feel this so I would take the power gains out of the equation. If you notice, I would argue that is a placebo effect. If you are shopping for exhaust, purchase based on sound and volume preferences.

You gained 5 MPG from the Borla? So like a 30% increase in fuel mileage? What were you getting for MPG before the Borla exhaust?

It was ranging from 12 to 13b mpg. 6.2 V8

One more clarification, these are highway mpg's. City i'm still getting about 14 mpg's

That's not great mileage. A 5 MPG gain is a large gain. I bet it doesn't hurt your feelings to be getting better mileage!
