Apple CarPlay Issues with Text Messages: Anyone found a solutuion?

Since the iOS 16.3.1 update, my apple carplay has been a mess. Specifically, YES, I have experienced what the original poster mentioned - in vehicle/apple carplay, Siri will read my text msgs to me but STOPPED asking me if I wanted to reply, I no longer have a hands-free option to quickly reply to a text. This happened immediately after the 16.3.1 update - as well as other Siri glitches including when I would say to Siri navigate to X place (example #1: a person listed in my contacts - Siri would reply that there was no such place/contact) (example #2: Siri, navigate to McDonald's in Culpeper, Virginia - she would reply "Sorry, I can't give you that information while you're driving." I spent 1+ hour on phone with Apple Support. He had me disable Driving Focus (and now, I can't find it anywhere on my phone, it is not an option under Settings/Focus) - that did fix the "sorry I can't give you that information while you're driving" problem. The other glitch was that suddenly my texts to myself (I do this often to remind myself of something) - suddenly were going to my husband's cell # BUT oddly were NOT being actually delivered to him but marked as an undeliverable text. And I CAN send him a normal text via apple car play as usual.... And, the only way I can now text myself is to dictate my entire cell number out - to which Siri replies, what would you like to say to "MY NAME." But if I say to Siri Send a text message to MY NAME, she sends it undeliverable to my husband's name. The Apple tech support had me recheck ( knew to check this) to be sure I didn't have duplicates, etc. I deleted both of our entries, re added, etc. Anyway - I really don't even know what this forum is but the Original Poster is the FIRST post I've been able to find where there is a problem that Siri stops asking if you want to reply to a text in Apple Car Play. If anyone has an update, please share!

I have the same problem with CarPlay not offering to let me respond to a new message after Siri read the incoming message to me. I updated to 16.3.1 as soon as it was offered, but, I believe the problem occurred a week or two later.

Honestly it sounds like a setting is not enabled. I don't know which one but will see what I can come up with.
