Apple CarPlay Issues with Text Messages: Anyone found a solutuion?

Siri began not announcing all texts then completely stopped asking if I wanted to respond. My dealer replaced the CarPlay electronics and said it was fixed. Well part of it is. Siri does announce all texts BUT still doesn't ask if I want to reply! I googled Apple support and found two IPhone settings: one is for announcing and the other supposedly for Siri to ask about replies. My dealer wants me to bring it back in but I want to be sure its not a setting on my IPhone ( iPhone 13 with iOS 15.6.1.

Has anyone had this issue? Please share the settings. Thank you!

did it stop with that last update? come to think about it, seems like she stopped telling me after I did the 15.6.1 update last week.

I can’t be certain but I don’t think so. But if mine was truly a hardware issue now that we both have updated iOS it could be the current problem.

22 refresh and my system works just as its supposed to. Msg repeated back, sent , replied and read to me.

Early 2022 at4 is a “refreshed” 21 - does not have the floor shifter and other stuff the later 22’s have. Does have all the electronics and whatnot tough.

Best U can determine is my 2021 AT4 was built around March 2021 waiting for chips. I took delivery in 8/21. I’ve not been able to confirm it’s an issue with the most recent Apple iOS update so back to the dealer it goes this week. Thank you

Any updates on this issue? My iphone works good with the truck, but I get no text message info on the truck screen. I'm not sure if I have all the setting right. With my last truck it all worked great and I did nothing different. (Ford)

They are working on my truck today. I’ll post an update after they hopefully figure it out. Apple support listed 2 settings on my iPhone needed for SIRI to announce and ask for replies. I don’t recall them at the moment.

Update: the good news is they were able to confirm the issue by pairing their phone. Bad news is the software updates have not yet fixed the CarPlay. Stand by…

Update #2: my tech has pushed this issue up the line to the
GM team of engineers. II guess this means I’m the first one to have this problem. Stand by …

Update: The GM engineers are telling me to go to Apple. Really? My manager has gone as far as he can and has asked me to open a case with GM. I will do this but was hoping someone here has the answer. To restate my problem: Apple Carplay wiill speak the incoming message but no longer asks me if I want to reply while driving. IF i take my hand off the steering wheel and select the text message it will usually ask me if I want to reply. The bottomline is I no longer have a "hands free" way to reply!

refresh for 22 AT4 can be determined by checking the 12th digit in the VIN if it is 4 or lower did not get the refresh at production above 4 did get 22 refresh when produced.

got that info from the autostop eliminator folks
