Apple Car Play in action Refreshed 22

You cannot disable the auto folding mirrors and their is a button by the mirror adjustment where you can manually do it. As to the screen for Apple car play the main screen is always a 70/30 split left side is what ever you have on and the right side has three options clock, trailer view or google maps

When you fold the mirrors in "manually" do the cameras on the mirrors continue to work? Just with a different view I assume.

Also, HD radio stations supported in these?

The cameras are in the base of the mirror attached to the door, so I don't believe they move when the mirror is folded.

I don't believe HD radio is supported.

Actually I think im wrong about the cameras is the bas of the mirror, they do appear to be in the part that moves
I’d be interested to know if they still work when the cameras are folded in. I’m still a few months from getting mine in and trying to plan our garage situation out. I’m going to have to sqqqquuuuueeze the passenger side pretty close to the wall.

Auto folding mirrors is an option in settings… you can choose to select to fold on lock. Unfold on unlock.

I almost wonder if that is a limitation by apple (the display size). I can see them doing something like that for a consistent experience. My wife's 22 Acura MDX also only shows about 70/30 with the 30 being the native maps application or the clock.

I saw where SRacer said he cannot find how to disable the auto folding mirrors and that sparked another thought. Are you able to click a button to fold the mirrors yourself ahead of the truck doing it after you lock the doors? Our garage is a tight squeeze so we like to fold them ahead.
so the button in the cab will let you fold/unfold at will. ultimately I did find out where to disable the auto folding mirrors. the problem is once you disable it you cannot fold them with the key fob at all. so they either fold when you lock the doors or you cannot fold them remotely at all.

does anyone have a suggestion on where to leave comments on the infotainment. it seems really buggy and I'm hoping to give some feedback with the expectation OTA updates can clean some of it up.

Also, for CarPlay. we have a BMW X5 that CarPlay takes up the whole screen and shows a larger number of apps. so I don't think it's a limitation by apple.

The screen on the BMW is not as wide as the screen in these new interiors. At leas not in my wife’s 19 550. The aspect ratio for CarPlay is fixed so a screen with a wider ratio a leaves a gap.
the 2020 x5 has a 12.3 inch display. it is not as wide but it is wider than standard CarPlay. most vehicles I use CarPlay in show two rows of 4 icons each. the BMW shows 2 rows of 5 icons each. All this to say I dont believe Apple is restricting the size of the CarPlay display. I dont really have an issue with the split screen I just wish it was more customizable. I also have issues with the transitions between CarPlay and other audio sources. I would love the ability to show additional gauges in the smaller section of screen.

Thanks man! Those aren't bad looking at all in person up close! Those pics solidify my decision to stay with the ATs for practicality.
I have the At’s but they are very mild and shouldn’t be on a 4x4 IMO. They do ride smooth and they are firm on the 20” wheel ! I drove several with the Duratracs on them and they are very noisy- the faster I went the worse they got! Also, the Duratracs felt spongy when changing lanes! IMO there are a lot better tires out there. I made my purchase knowing I was going to go with an E range more aggressive AT tire- I’m still looking though! If people purchased the trucks with Duratracs without driving one with the At’s also they may not know the difference-

They could have a little better sidewall but for an OEM I've def seen worse.
I ran them to 32k with no issues but they may as well just have a highway tire on them. They are quiet and handle well but with a light load only . The Duratracs are loud and cause a vibration that I didn’t like but you’d have to drive identical trucks with either tire on them to realize how horrible the DT’s are. If you plan on getting off road at all you might as well go ahead and spend 2 k on a set of high quality AT’s - after all, you did spend 60k plus on a 1/2 ton truck - might as well put quality rubber underneath it.
