Air bags for towing

That what I am being told do you know if they Change the suspension from 23-24 I wouldn’t think so. I called air lift directly and that what I was told. It does seam strange that you can’t add them.
What kind of air bags do you have ?

IDK if they changed the suspension for 24. To my knowledge they didn't, but who knows.

I bet they will work fine. My 23 AT4X suspension is soft and great, but for pulling a trailer, not at all good for that. The airlift 5000 airbags (which I had on my previous two trucks also) work great. And I have the on-board mini aircompressor system also, so can adjust the inflation to whatever I want it to be. Highly recommend if it works with your AT4X.

Curious, where have y’all mounted the compressor, roughly how much for installation

Hello,
I have a '23 AT4X and I hooked up my toy hauler (6000 lbs) and it squats to where the camper is riding like 6-8 inches off the pavement near the tongue. I want to get airbags for it for that reason. Has anyone else done this? If so, can anyone recommend a good kit to go with? Thanks!
I have a '23 AT4X and had the same problem. I put the new Readylift Air bag system on my truck. It is the same type of system the big trucks use. I love it. I also put a Readylift 4" lift on top of the factory 2" and I am told (and agree) that it is one of the best riding lifted trucks to come out of the shop. Not the best picture but it works.

If you have a provision for a second battery under the hood, that is a great place to mount the compressor. That's were mine is, fits awesome, out of the elements, and a snap to wire in.

Has anyone used the RoadActive Suspension setup? I’ve heard good things, but I’ve only ever seen people use airbags.

Nothing works better than air bags. They maintain a true factory ride when not in use and can increase the payload exponentially while being infinitely adjustable to the particular need of each load. Adding springs just makes it stiffer from empty to fully loaded. Do as you wish.

No difference really. Between the bilstein 5100's and the RAS, the gravel roads with washboards, get soaked up. It's not totally gone, but a person doesn't have to slow down coming to intersections, nor baby the throttle turning at intersections.

The ride is better on asphalt, but I say it's because of the 5100's. I had 15 bags of seed corn in it yesterday. Only difference I could tell was spooling of the turbo was louder.

I'm looking hard at the RAS option on my current truck. I've ran AirRaid systems on previous trucks and liked them, but they're really pricey these days. I like the current stance of the truck and one of the things i'm trying to avoid is raising the ride height in the rear when unloaded. Did it increase the height in the rear after install? I am usually towing a camper or rally car and gear on a car hauler, so I would need to set the preload at least to the first gap width. Wondering if I can have my cake and eat it too like with bags.

No it did not increase the height. Keep in mind this is on a 2500, so it has more leafs to try to bend.

I've had the air lift compressor fail on me twice in the winter where it wouldn't stop building air and blew up one of my air bags. This is the what I went with on my newest truck Logiq AirIQ. With this system you can go up to 180psi max. Also go with a small air tank, from my experience the system just works beter with an air reserve. This is my 3rd truck I've had air bags on.

The ride on the AT4X is still very good, even with the Airlift airbags. I keep the airbags at 20 psi for non-towing driving. Rides great. Still a supple feel, but also firm enough IMO.

Question for you @Teegunn since you are running the 5000s. Why do you keep 20psi in there when you're unloaded? Why not empty them to 0psi since the 5000s have the internal jounce bump stop? Wouldn't 20psi somewhat negate the benefit of the AT4X suspension? Looking at options for my new AT4X myself. Thank you
