AEV edition rear emblems

Funny how tastes differ… I’m thinking about removing most of the badging and the wrap on the tailgate. I prefer the clean, stealthy, look. I like the goodies, but don’t want to advertise them. I felt the same way about my Raptor. I loved everything about that truck except the “look at me!” graphics (and the fact that it couldn’t tow and sucked fuel). It looked much better without all all the busy-ness, and there was less for the mud to stick to.

Are you all getting a replacement AEV emblem? Using fishing line to remove the old one? I debadged my previous Silverado so I am familiar with the process, but hesitant on my brand new 24 AT4X! Maybe after a few months of driving it I will have better faith, but Im day 2 of owning it so just reserved for now.

I am guessing the other blackout emblems are an overlay? Thanks for the help!

I ordered OEM emblems, expensive but genuine. For all I know they are made in the same factory as ebay knockoffs :)

Here are some pics from today. The truck is dirty, so I will post some good pics when she gets washed this week. We removed emblems, the adhesive stuck to the edge of the vinyl on a few letters, so we ended up rewrapping the tailgate and then installing the GMC black logos. Also, notice the black AEV badge on tailgate. My buddy also plastidipped the front grill AT4X logo to have it blend in with everything more.

What did you do for your front grill GMC badge?

Hey guys I finally got my black badges, I had to bribe someone to get them since they're on an insane 3-month backorder right now so I'm told, I put them on myself for the most part and was able to save the rear factory wrap!! it was very time-consuming but I was able to do it you just need to be sure to mask off the area enough and don't get the wrap too hot with a heat gun, I recommend using fishing line something very strong, and act more like a surgeon, not a butcher, you can also use an eraser wheel on the paint to get the adhesive off and it won't affect the wrap as long as you get the area damp beforehand. but the most important part is not to get the wrap too hot with the heat gun just heat up the badges enough to get a corner up and get the fishing line under there, have someone with a plastic pry tool to hold up the badge and heat under it and keep going! Surprisingly there is no wrap at all under the letters so don't worry about pealing the wrap-up!! I had to do it this way because if I took it to the dealer they would have to charge 200 bucks to replace the wrap so I thought I might give it a try and it worked!!! here's the finished product, just still waiting on the front light-up emblem lol

PS, Does anyone know if they make a black AEV badge or what i should do? I contemplated painting it but its all individual little emblems and I'm not sure if I can get new adhesive on there that precise to the little letters.
We have the same truck... exactly. If you decide to take the emblems off, consider this video. It was really helpful for me, took about an hour and my rig is clean af now.

For those that may want an OEM Black AEV Badge. Silverado Black AEV Tailgate Badge - 87838301 - PLATE,END GATE MKTG PACKAGE NAME.

Any photos of what the wrapped section looks like with the emblem removed? I’m wanting the remove the GMC, but not replace it with the black emblem. Should I just plan on re wrapping?
You will have to re-wrap as the wrapping goes around the emblem not behind it

I know this is an old thread but have a question. My son opened my tailgate into my hitch and tore the vinyl and dented the tailgate. I removed the wrap and had the dent fixed. I tried to install the wrap myself and it went horribly wrong. I paid someone to install the wrap and they did a horrible job so I tore it off again. I noticed your replacement wrap didn't have the letters cut out. Did you have someone just use a flat black wrap and non-oem part? Did you put the letters directly on the vinyl? No problems? I wish I could find GMC letters that were black instead of chrome but keep the red and do them with all black emblems. I might even leave the wrap off if I could find such a thing. I don't want do do no wrap with chrome/black and then all black. Thanks!

I own an AEV and wanted two additional emblems on the the front quarter panels; fussy as I am, I ordered them from GMC, yep pretty expensive but defintely OEM, not a choice for most.

Just did mine. Last chrome piece. Hyper dipped a black AEV badge. Now it matches the rest of my hyper dipped badges.
