I don't blame you one bit.Sorry to hear all you folks going through this. I bought my 2024 3500 gasser in mid 2023 when I was still working from home, but our company has had us back in the office 3x per week and the commute has been hammering me on the fuel.
We can get away with the payload on the GM half tons (I came from a Tundra with abysmal payload) if we load carefully, so I was all geared up to get into an LZ0 over the last month or so due to all the great things I've heard. I figured I'd do some more research and came across this new issue with the 25/26 model years... Definitely freaked me out enough to stay in my 3500 gasser until GM has worked this out.
I would buy a cheap car that gets good MPG's and keep the 3500. You won't have to worry about being over loaded and that 6.6 is a good engine. I seen a video that they are coming out with new engines and the 6.2 and iron block 6.6 will be gone. The 6.6 that that is going to replace it will be all aluminum an will be in corvette's and trucks's 1500-3500. That probably means AMF/DMF and auto start are coming to HD trucks.Sorry to hear all you folks going through this. Very interesting. I'll believe it when I see it regarding the 6.6 gas engine, but if that ends up being true then it probably makes even more sense to hang on to my current 6.6. If anything, those changes will make the L8T more desirable and increase resale.I would buy a cheap car that gets good MPG's and keep the 3500. What are you considering doing? At 7,400 miles. So far, no issues with the new engine. The horn doesn't work. GM has offered a buyback or replacement.
Not sure. Probably a buyback but I'm not really sure what I would get. It's a shame, I really do like the truck. What are you considering doing?
FYI "BBB autoline" is what made this buyback possible so thanks @FlipsAT4 I don't think it would have happened without BBB involvement.Review your states lemon law. Buyback is triggered automatically once the vehicles sits at a dealership for 30+ days in most states. Go through the BBB autoline. GM customer service sucks.
I'm think I have to go back to an HD. The cafe standards have made all of the half tons a disaster. I think eventually most the half tons will be electric, but they are not there enough for me.Not sure. Probably a buyback but I'm not really sure what I would get. It's a shame, I really do like the truck.
